Amory, after a bit of trying, gets how to work with the phone, and takes a bit more time to check out what the app exactly could do. He quickly realizes that he could easily edit Eric´s mind so he would stay with him, or become a friend or even a brother to him in the human side if he wanted to. But he desired a mate, and Eric was just perfect for that, too. What if he took over Eric´s life, and make Eric become his pet-mate? So many options… And he could even add Eric´s friends into it all, if he wanted to.
Eric, seeing the emotions run over Amory´s face, kept quiet for a few minutes. Something must have caught his eye, that was sure. When Amory´s face didn´t shift anymore, but still shout him kind of daydreaming, Eric finally asked: “Found something interesting?”
Amory looked up, grinning. “Yeah, you could say that. I know you can´t stay here with me, and I was thinking about how if you can´t, maybe I could come with you instead. I could simply join your friends, bringing me in as a friend that was there all along. Or I could be your older brother, which would keep us together even better.” The rest of his ideas he kept to himself, not wanting to make Eric panic now.
“That would be awesome. But you said you didn´t want to leave your home here before. And you would still need to go to school and such things you never have done before.” Eric exclaims in his surprise. It would be so cool if Amory could join him and the others.
“Hmmm, you are right, I said that. It´s just… I´m lonely here, so while I not really want to leave everything behind, there isn´t much to miss right now, beside the feeling of home. Say, I have seen how you are around your friends. Do you think they would accept me if they know who I am? And in what way are they your friends? I mean are they all equal friends to you, or do you prefer some of them?” Amory asked, looking thoughtful.
Eric looked sadly at him. “It´s sad that you are lonely here. Now I really want us to stay together, if just to keep that feeling away from you. I´m sure they would accept you. They have accepted my decision to keep this form, after all.” Thinking about Amory´s other question, he replied: “I would say we are all equal friends to each other, but if I had to choose one of them, it would be Max. But Dean would be close second to him.”
Amory looked surprised at the second. “Isn´t Dean the one who attacked you earlier? The bird one?”
“Yeah, he is. And it is not the first time he attacked someone in worry, I know that. But I know he is still a true friend. If he wasn´t a bird-anthro right now, he would most likely hit me to get some sense into me, before he realized it. You heard him, he has lost more than one friend to that, but beside that, he is a great friend.” Eric explains. He then yawns a bit. While he was a nocturnal animal hybrid, he still had not slept that much the night before, and also didn´t rest over the day.
“Do you want to rest some? I guess your body isn´t used to be up all night yet.” Amory asks him. “I will wake you up when you need to get back to your camp if you want.”
Eric yawns again. “I don´t want you to keep you up watching for me, but I´m really tired. Maybe a short nap is enough before I head back.” And another yawn escapes him.
“It´s okay, Eric. By making me young again, I gained a lot more energy in my former old bones.” Amory said. With a bit more coaxing, Eric finally lies down beside Amory, feeling he needed the contact. Maybe a minute or two, he is fast asleep. Amory smiles down at him, thinking to himself. “Now let´s make sure we stay together, my little cub.” Eric had never taken his phone back from Amory, after all.
