Jasper, or rather Pearl now, felt very much worried as she was returned to the palace that had once been his. He had been Prince Jasper not so long ago! And now he was a simple thing to be bought and sold! How the mighty are fallen! He was barely out of his own egg, with still having to deal with his new sex and species that he belonged and he had to deal with more trouble! Could he get a break, please? Besides, what Karltin had hinted at did nothing to reassure him. The fact that he still remained with his memories intact, as Prince Jasper, could only mean that Antyny would be happy to play on that. This was not good at all. And when did this jerk become king? Antyny was the son of the highest dignitary of the palace and Jasper's best friend. Supposedly, because Jasper thought him unbearably arrogant. He was as well, just as much, but he was way past self-criticism by now. Jasper and Antyny had always possessed a demeanour of camaraderie and mutual friendship but in truth, it was steeped in hatred and rivalry. Jasper, as prince, always had more, even if it was a little more, than Antyny and never let him forget it. Jasper never liked anything better than showing off in from of Antyny. Of course, he never realized just how much Antynyn was biding his time. So what had happened to his parents? How did Antyny seize power? He guessed he was about to find out. And he had bad forebodings about it...
When they reached the palace, Antyny came out, dressed in clothes befitting a new monarch. The sort he never would have worn as a dignitary. He was showing off his new status very clearly. He thanked the soldiers for their mission and ordered for his new pet to be prepared as per his commands. So Jasper was taken away promptly and left in the care of servants. The castle had been entirely redecorated with Antyny's family crest. Nothing showed that it had belonged to Jasper's family. He fumed but soon he had other worries. He was supposed to be this idiot and usurper's pet? How humiliating! And what preparations was he supposed to get? He quickly understood as he was washed, perfumed, and a collar of pearls placed around his neck. He also had silk and velvet bows and was spritzed with a flowery perfume. Everyone gushed that Pearl looked like the perfect little dragon princess, so dainty and feminine and cute! Jasper was just mortified and completely humiliated. He was then paraded on a velvet leash at the hand of a smirking and smug Antyny. He explained that Pearl was such a young baby, well, she had to be trained a bit. He then placed Jasper on a velvet red cushion by his throne and himself on the throne. It was only when Antyny settled in his bedroom that he told Pearl that he knew very well she was Jasper, that he had taken great pleasure in seeing him humiliated and that if he did not obey like a darling baby dragon princess and a good pet, then he would use his magic to make him believe he really was a cute silly dragon girl. He also added that he had seized power and had Jasper's father killed and his mother exiled. Anyway, no one thought that Jasper was a worthy future ruler. He laughed at his own triumph and left his new pet to sleep in a gold cage with a bowl of chocolate delicacies and of warm milk. Jasper was fuming. What could he do? He was too weak, his parents were gone, everyone thought Antyny was a better ruler and if he did not accept being humiliated day after day after day, he would lose his memories and his mind would be swept by so many changes that his current personality would vanish.
