A week into being Antyny’s pet, Pearl found out how Antyny had known her true identity, as well as the truth about her parents, the former King and Queen. Antyny was sitting in the throne room upon the King’s throne, Pearl resting on a pillow on a stand beside him. The doors to the room opened. Anya entered. Pearl’s head went up in shock. Anya walked up.
“Hard to believe this precious baby dragon was once Prince Jasper,” Anya remarked, looking at Pearl. She scratched Pearl under the chin. Pearl couldn’t help but purr at the sensation. “I succeeded in selling off the former King and Queen.”
“To whom?” Antyny asked.
“Two different warlords. They were each pleased to have new concubines.” Pearl cocked her head curiously. “Did Antyny not tell you? Your father was transformed into a young woman to prevent him from retaking the throne.” Anya placed her hand on Antyny’s knee. “Antyny could not bring himself to kill him.”
“I lied to you,” Antyny said to Pearl. “But do not let that fool you. I will have no qualms about casting further enchantments upon you to make you behave.” Pearl gulped nervously and nodded. “Now, Anya, take your place.”
“Gladly,” Anya purred. She sat upon the Queen’s throne, next to Antyny. She smirked at Pearl. “Do you really think Antyny could have taken the throne without someone on the inside?” she asked. She leaned over and kissed Antyny. When they pulled apart, Antyny stroked Anya’s face.
“My wonderful wife, you make such a fine Queen.”
Pearl’s heart broke. She couldn’t believe the betrayal she had just experienced. But it was only going to get worse.
