“Take me home, big kids,” Kelly spoke in a candy-sweet voice as she pulled her friends forward, “I tell you story.”
“You’d better,” Jen remarked as she and Denise followed their friend outside.
“My gosh, Kelly,” Denise gushed. “You’re so cute!”
“Shhh!” The shrunken teen pleaded. “Take me home, and I’ll tell you everything.”
“Can’t we do a little shopping first?” Denise begged.
“No!” Jen and Kelly barked.
Once they were finally safe at Kelly’s house and dropped Pinky off, the toddler-sized teen told them about the reducer and showed them the device. “But hey,” The high-schooler realized. “Why aren’t you guys in school?”
“It’s a half day, remember?” Jen inquired.
“I say we skip,” Denise added. “It’s not like teachers take attendance today anyway.”
“I second,” Jen agreed. “So, this thing can change your size?”
“Obviously,” Kelly remarked.
“Watch it, Shorty,” Jen warned. “I could drop you off at a daycare without questions.”
“Don’t be mean, Jen,” Denise advised.
“Let’s just use the thing,” Kelly begged and gestured to her body. “This was just to see if it would work.”
“We should all shrink to toddler size,” Denise suggested. “We could wear cute clothes, play with toys, and maybe go to the park or even a daycare.”
“And who would pick us up?” Jen inquired.
“We could think of something,” Kelly added.
“I think we should grow ourselves so no one would question our age at bars or clubs,” Jen responded.
“No, no!” Kelly shook her head. “We should shrink to Megan’s size, borrow her clothes, and head to the mall to see what we can get for free. Maybe we could even see if we could pass for grade-schoolers at Meg’s school.”
“Why do you get to decide what we do with it?” Jen questioned.
“Because,” Kelly explained, “I’m the one who found it!”
“That’s a preschool rule, Tater-tot!”
“Maybe!” Denise interjected. “One of us should stay normal-sized like a babysitter.”
