“Wait, wait!” Kelly insisted. “I’ve got an idea; we’ll do an internet challenge to decide who gets to choose what we do.”
“What challenge?” Jen inquired.
“We’ll put the reducer in my room,” Kelly explained. “And shrink to doll-size; we’ll be Megan’s toys for twenty-four hours.”
“That,” Denise gushed, “Would be adorable!”
“And,” Jen challenged, “How does that solve anything?”
“Be patient, Jen,” Kelly responded, “Because here is where it gets interesting. If Megan discovers one of us is real, they lose, and the last one gets to pick.”
“What if?” Denise wondered. “Megan doesn’t figure out any of us are alive or there’s more than one girl left?”
“Yeah,” Jen agreed. “And do you want your little sister to know about the reducer?”
“If there’s more than one of us in twenty-four hours,” Kelly explained. “We’ll ask Megan for her opinion on who was the best doll. I hide stuff from my sister all the time, and who’d believe her if she told anyone?”
“Let’s do it!” Denise exclaimed.
“I guess it might be fun,” Jen admitted, “Who knows; someday, we could start a YouTube channel with stuff like this.”
“Great,” Kelly smiled as she picked up her dog. “But let’s put Pinky outside until Megan gets home.”
“Good idea,” Jen agreed.
“And,” Denise added. “We won’t have to call our parents because we’re always staying at each other’s houses anyway.”
After the pup was let outside, the girls went to Kelly’s room. “Okay, girls,” Kelly remarked. “Let’s get dolled up!”
Kelly shot the beam at all three of them, and of course, the already tiny blonde was the first to reach Barbie size, with the two others quickly following.
“It’s so weird!” Jen remarked as she looked around. “It’s hard to believe we’ve been in here a hundred times.”
“I know!” Denise agreed, “It’s so cool!”
“Come on, girls!” Kelly ordered as she tried to lift the Reducer, now the size of a table, to the three teenagers. “Help me hide this under the bed.” The three girls hid the reducer and dusted themselves off. “Come on, girls,” Kelly waved, “Let’s get to Megan’s room.
