While Jake waits for his master to arrive, the dog hatches a plan, ‘in order for my master to not figure out I have changed, I’ll act as normal, so, when he yells at me for destroying his stuff, I’ll act as though I don’t understand what is going on. I’ll put on my happy doggy face, which I know will calm him down immediately,’ he thinks to himself, ‘then once he is asleep, I’ll scan him and then the fun can begin. Hehe… poor master, he has no idea that soon it is not him in command, but ME!’
Leslie Nielsen, a 40 year-old man with short brown hair and brown eyes, who also has an athletic body, due to his many sports activities, is currently driving towards his home after a long day in the office. ‘I hope the device has arrived today,’ he thinks to himself, ‘I am really tired of Jake always tearing up my letters and humping at my leg,’ unaware that Jake now has the device and that the dog is planning to change their lives.
Jake, sensing that his master is on his way, prepares himself, when the door opens he hears his master call out, “JAKE,” Leslie shouts, “HERE!”
‘Here it goes,’ Jake thinks to himself, he gets up from his bed and, using his mouth to lift his bed up, slides the device under it with a paw, hiding it from Leslie, before heading to his master, making sure to wag his tail and pant happily.
Leslie hears the pitter patter of paws heading his way, soon Jake comes running up to him, barking, wagging and panting happily. The man, however is not happy, “SIT,” he commands and Jake does as told, still wagging and panting, Leslie then points at the mess, “bad dog! How often do I have to tell you: not to shred my letters? I am really mad at you, you destroyed a very important document, now I have to try and sort it out with the authorities, thanks for adding more stress to me!”
Jake acts as though he doesn’t understand, tilting his head, ‘man… so hard to act like a normal dog,’ he thinks to himself, ‘seeing him this mad really wants to make me want to burry myself. I feel so bad, hearing him calling me a “bad dog” really hurts… I… I am not a bad dog, I am a good dog… a good boy!’
Leslie looks at Jake, scowling, but then the man lets out a sigh, “listen Jake,” he says, “I know you only mean well, that you want to protect me, since everything strange and threatening looking alerts you. You are a guard dog after all, it is in your blood to protect your home and pack, so I get it, but… it is just so frustrating.”
The man then chuckles, “what’s the point,” he says, kneeling down and rubbing the back of Jake’s ears, “you will just keep on doing it… I really should get a letter box, that way the letters won’t be destroyed.”
Unaware to Leslie, Jake understood every word, ‘now I know why he always got mad at me,’ he thinks to himself, ‘I understand his frustration, I guess he is right, it is in my blood. At least he understands, plus even though he is mad at me, I know he loves me with all his soul.’ Jake then gives Leslie a lick on the cheek.
Leslie chuckles and shakes his head, “I love you too, Jake,” he says, straightening up, “you may be a bad boy at times, but most of the times you are a good boy! I don’t know what I’d do without you. Let me clear away this mess you made, then I’ll give you your food, and after that we’ll go for a walk, it really has been a stressful week.”
Jake lets out a happy bark and wags his tail, ‘at least he doesn’t stay mad for to long,’ he thinks to himself, watching his master picking up all the torn letters.
Leslie lets out a sigh, “looks like the device has not been delivered yet,” he mumbles to himself, “I hope it’ll arrive soon, so that I can make Jake stop being so… protective and… hump-crazy!”
‘I knew it,’ Jake thinks to himself, hearing every word, ‘well, I don’t need to worry, I now have the device, and I’ll make sure to use it on master, making him forget about it, then I’ll have more time to think of what to do.’
