That night, when Leslie was fast asleep, Jake carefully and quietly climbed out of his bed and retrieved the device. =I just hope he won’t wake up.=
He couldn't open the door to the bedroom to sneak out....that left the bathroom...he snuck in there, and pushed the door almost closed...he didn't want to get trapped in there.
He started to examine the device and its settings. He needed to decide how to deal with his master. He loved his master and knew his master loved him, but he thought Jake was a bad dog...even though he knew that it was Jake's nature...and until recently, the fact that he was completely unaware of what he'd been doing.
That was what annoyed him. That was being a good dog...even if it is was doing something the humans didn't like. It was so...hypocritical. That gave him an idea. What if his master was the one who was held to that standard instead of him?
He was able to, if slowly, configure the settings to match that goal, and then activate the program. The device began to count down...the delay would give him time to rehide the device and rejoin his master in bed...although things would be very different the next day.
