Stephanie still felt pretty weird about the whole situation, but then again, her life in the last few years had been anything but normal. She was now face to face with her cousin who was a teenage version of her adoptive mother from another timeline. She was entertaining Lynne by making one of her stuffed toys grow a little larger.
"Bigger! Bigger!" Lynne joyfully said while giggling. "Lynne, remember, we can't make the toy too big that it can't fit inside the house." Ann Pendragon said to Lynne who looked a little disappointed but she still hugged the stuffed animal. While she was busy playing with the stuffed toy, Ann decided to talk with her cousin.
"So....I guess this is kinda strange, huh?" Ann Pendragon asked Stephanie. "Not so strange, in the last month or so I've seen some strange stuff. I met my best friend because her boyfriend didn't know if they were still dating or not, then my best friend accidentally turns the whole school into an anthro school for a few hours, but the worst of it was that...." Stephanie paused before finishing.
"The worst of it was that I treated my boyfriend kind of badly during it. He....knows about magic and sort of has his own, that's the quickest way to summarize it. I've been trying to get in touch and apologize in person to him, but he hasn't gotten back to me. Does he hate me?" Stephanie asked Ann.
"No, of course he doesn't hate you. You just need to give him some time." Ann Pendragon said. "Funny, my mom said the same thing, you two really are similar in a lot of ways." Stephanie smirked.
"Yeah, back in my timeline there's...." Ann started to say before Stephanie's phone rang. "Just a second. Hey mom.....yeah, so she told you what happened?........No, I'm doing okay, I'm talking to my....cousin, Ann from an alternate timeline. I know, it's kind of awkward......no, you don't have to call them. I'm sure when he's ready, he'll talk to me. Thanks for calling, mom. I love you too, bye." Stephanie said as she finally hung up.
"I thought Ann was your mom?" Ann Pendragon asked confused. "She is....and so is Jackie." Stephanie answered as Ann Pendragon blushed. Ann Pendragon looked over to her counterpart to see if she was wearing a ring, but she didn't see one.
"But they're not married?" Ann Pendragon asked. "No, not yet, but they sure act like it. Jackie's over at college right now, and I've really been missing her too. I know she's technically only a few years old than me, but she feels more like a mom than a sister. Over the last few years, I've really seen them as my real parents." Stephanie explained.
"Anyway, change of subject. You said you had a battle suit?" Ann Pendragon asked.
"Yeah, it was used for....a defensive attack a few years back by my nanny but I'm really only supposed to use it in an emergency. Though that didn't stop me from using it on my soon to be best friend not too long ago." Steph said rubbing her neck.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry that happened." Ann apologized. "It's okay, I'm on really good terms with her now. I just wish we could double date sometime, I miss Travis, he's the kindest, sweetest boy I ever met. But I treated him so unfairly. He must really hate me now." Stephanie groaned.
Ann Pendragon put a hand on her cousin's shoulder for reassurance. "He doesn't hate you, he's just still coming to terms with everything that happened. Trust me, he'll get back to you sooner than you think." Stephanie smiled at this.
"Steph, Lynne, time to go." Stephanie's mom said. Lynne moaned as Ann Pendragon made the stuff toy smaller, but she still gave the doll a hug.
Stephanie said goodbye to her cousin and gave her a hug as Ann and Stephanie left with Lynn to take her to their house.
