Cheyenne and Hailey had been unsure of the two women who had come to their door, but so far those two women were the only ones to offer them some kind of help. Cheyenne had gotten in touch with a woman over the phone who said she might be able to help them find a new place top live, they didn't have much else of a choice now. They gathered up any possessions they had and packed up and drove off to the location that the woman on the other end had given them.
"How do we even know this woman can help us, mom?" Hailey asked her mother as they got nearer to their destination. The drive beforehand had been much quieter as the two of them didn't know what else to say.
"Hailey, I know what this means, leaving everything behind, our home, our old lives, but I think this woman may be able to help us get to where we need to go." Cheyenne said as they arrived at a building with a security guard at the gate.
"State your business." The guard said. "Uh....Miss McMillan sent us to this location?" Cheyenne said as the guard just nodded and raised the gate. "Please park your car and go inside, go directly to the front desk of the building, Director McMillan will meet you there." The guard said as Cheyenne nodded as thanks.
Cheyenne and Hailey got their bags and walked into the building, the place looked very brand new and very impressive from everything that they saw as they came in.
"Hello, welcome to S.P.E.A.R, I'm Director McMillan, but for the duration of your time here, please call me Sarah." Sarah said coming up from a nearby hallway introducing herself.
"Hello there, I'm Cheyenne and this is my daughter Hailey, some oddly dressed women said you could help us." Cheyenne said.
"Wearing Victorian clothes?" Sarah asked. "Yes, how did you know?" Hailey asked. "They're known to us. Follow me and we'll talk in my office." Sarah said as they went through a hallway into an office that was mostly decorated though they could see that she seemed like she was still getting everything in order.
"Sorry to ask this right away, but what exactly is this place? S.P.E.A.R, you called it?" Hailey asked Sarah.
"Yes, it's an acronym of course, stands for Strategic Paranormal Enforcement and Rescue. Basically over the last few years, the world has had....encounters with the paranormal and some individuals who will remain anonymous have put out some fires but that doesn't mean that more fires can ignite, if you catch my drift." Sarah explained.
"So, what you....hunt the paranormal and kill them?" Cheyenne asked worried.
"Oh, no! No, the last word there is 'rescue', I've never made it my mission to kill anyone or anything unless it's a last resort. No, my main goal is to help those out there like you. You're recently turned vampires and your old lives are basically gone, now you seek help." Sarah guessed.
"Yes, I want my daughter and I to have what can account as a normal life, but that's impossible now." Cheyenne said.
"Not entirely true. There is a country in the world with other vampires out there, they have their own leaders and from what I understand, the Lord and Lady over there are much revered. I can arrange it, so you two are transported over there, you'll have all you need over there." Sarah explained.
"Wait, would it be possible to....get a job here?" Hailey asked. "Hailey, what are you saying?" Cheyenne asked her daughter concerned.
"Mom, I know you want to live somewhere you can feel safe, I do too, but I also want to help others out there like me. I know vampires probably have a terrible reputation, but I want to help change that. Please, will you let me do this?" Hailey asked her mother holding her hands.
"Oh, you are grown now, and I don't know if you'll grow up more, but I want you to be happy in your life. Director McMillan, is it possible for my daughter to work for you?" Cheyenne asked.
"A vampire working for us? I can't say everyone will be on board with it, but I can introduce you to someone who can help you with...any urges you may have. Cheyenne, do you still wish to go to the vampire homeland?" Sarah asked her.
"Yes, may I go in the morning, so my daughter and I can have one last night together?" Cheyenne asked.
"Of course." Sarah agreed and showed them to a room where they would stay for the night.
Cheyenne and Hailey didn't directly go to sleep that night as they thought of how everything would change tomorrow. When the morning finally came, Sarah directed the two of them to an area that seemed out of a science fiction movie. With a machine that was told by them to be a teleporter.
"Bye mom, I love you. If I can, I'll try to come see you at some point." Hailey said hugging her mother goodbye.
"You be a good girl now Hailey, I know you can help change the vampire image if you work here, I love you." Cheyenne said as she took her bag and went to the teleporter. One moment, Cheyenne saw Sarah and her daughter before her, and in the next moment, she was seeing a young man and woman looking very regal with the woman holding a child in her arms.
"Hello, I'm Cheyenne, I was....just recently turned vampire." Cheyenne said introducing herself.
"Greetings Cheyenne, I'm Lord Wyatt and this is my wife Lady Kyra, rulers of the vampire nation." Wyatt introduced himself and his wife.
"Oh, forgive my lord, my lady, I had no idea." Cheyenne said taking a bow.
"It's quite alright." Lady Kyra said as she helped raise Cheyenne up whilst holding a baby girl in her arms that looked a few months old.
"I had actually hoped we would receive a woman such as yourself. Do you have children?" Lady Kyra asked.
"Yes, my lady, one daughter, she elected to....stay behind." Cheyenne sighed.
"Well, you must know how to take care of children then, so I'm making you one of my handmaidens for my children, I have five, and that includes little Andromeda here. You'll help me with the children along with one or two other women I've selected. Come Cheyenne and welcome to your new home." Lady Kyra said as Cheyenne followed the lord and lady vampire.
