While it had only recently became officially autumn, most kids were already back in school. Already most of the students were longing for vacation. It didn't help that there was little going on during September. Most of the excitement won't happen until October when people started getting ready for Halloween. There was also a big buzz over the solar eclipse that was happening next month. Until then, students were looking for anything to tide them over. Plenty of them were turning to old videos, some more recent. Like the Quasi-Raccoon Cuties' coverage of Samurai Prep.
==========
"Hey everyone, Quasi-Raccoon Cuties to show you around Samurai Prep," said Tani, standing outside the school.
"And we have a special guest, everyone's favorite class president, Liao," said Naya, pulling Liao onscreen.
"Class president? I was never class president here," protested Liao.
"Was?" asked Date.
"Yeah, I graduated back in May, didn't you know?" asked Liao, who was noticeably not in uniform.
"Uh...so if you've got free time, maybe you answer some questions we've all been wanting to know," said Date.
"Is it true that Tuxing is retiring from the Five Elements to settle down and let you take over?" asked Naya.
"Besides her, who else is ready to marry their current boyfriend?" asked Tani.
Liao glared and said, "If you girls can't even get your facts straight about me, I'm not going to help you spread gossip about the others. This interview is over." With that, she walked away.
The QRC stood there awkwardly and Date eventually said, "Uh, maybe we should cover the school ourselves."
==========
The rest of the footage covering Samurai Prep was typically unwatched by the viewers. Partially because the school wasn't built all that differently from WSA in Lyre, though with a more obvious Chinese/Japanese theme. One wondered why the QRC included that small snafu in the video. Some people thought that it was because they believe that there was no such thing as bad publicity for them. Others thought that someone hacked into their files, retrieved the unedited footage, and put it online. There was no clear reason why the footage wasn't taken down other than it had gone viral and so many people have copied and reposted it, taking it all down would be a futile gesture.
This blunder didn't ruin the Quasi-Raccoon Cuties' career as journalists, but their reputation certainly took a hit. They would have to improve their professionalism and fact-checking if they wanted people to not think they're just attention-loving gossipers. Their next piece, which covered Ryouiki Island, was at least more professionally done. While the colony was still being established, it was known that a separate school was being built there as the ferry between the islands was rather impractical for having students from both islands attend Samurai Prep. And that excited some anime fans because it would mean something they've dreamed about: Samurai Prep would have a rival school.
