"Tell me," said the elf, as Terra led her back through the forest "Do you have flashes? Memories of things that never happened? Worlds beyond ours that have magic that differs so much to our own?"
Terra thought about it for a moment. Now that the elf spoke of it, she did remember looking out of unfamiliar eyes, with an unfamiliar name.
"Does the name 'Ty' mean anything to you?" Terra asked "I remember it in flashes like you describe, but I don't understand it."
"Me neither," said the elf "But I do recognize the name. I saw through the eyes of a human named Steph, but that is not my name. I am called Lilandra, but you may call me Lily or Lilith if you prefer."
"My name is Terra," said Terra "Do you know what the visions mean?"
"I don't," said Lilith "But it seems we share some form of connection. We should stay together until we figure this out."
Terra nodded, then gestured to where the tree that now covered the bandit completely.
"Oh," said Lilith "I think I've heard about this before. It's usually how dryads such as yourself reproduce. Usually with more ceremony, and with the subject being willing... but how do you not know this? Aren't you a dryad?"
"I... um... have recently reincarnated. I don't remember most of my past," Terra explained "What happened to the bandit?"
"The tree absorbed him," Lilith explained "Over the next few weeks, less if you stay close for the duration, he will be transformed into a new dryad, who will technically be your offspring, and have no memory of what she was before."
