Darren went about picking the skills Jeff may one day need. Survival and combat skills, infiltration and escape capabilities, how to maintain his body. and change his identity were the high-level categories that encompassed the physical aspects of his training.
Computer hacking, foreign languages, vehicle operations, social manipulation techniques, a GED, general know-how, and an MBA round out the mostly mental things... Jeff could easily be a physical laborer, but that doesn't mean he wants to do physical work forever.
Darren didn't want to blast Jeff with all these changes immediately, as it could shatter his identity. Jeff's new abilities were designated to unlock as needed or as used.
The physical changes were set to take Jeff to 21 by 6 p.m., then pause till 7 a.m., and continue aging him to 25 by noon tomorrow. Darren thought a 21st birthday party would be a fun surprise.
As for his new build, Jeff would be athletic and very strong, but not bulky at all. Jeff would be one of those average-looking guys that could rival the muscle mountains in capability, but not have lost any range of motion in the process.
Final tweaks would ensure Jeff has perfect vision, straight white cavity-free teeth, a hefty endowment, and a heavy coating of chest hair by age 18 since those were things Darren had wanted as a 16-year-old. Setting body features for Jeff without knowing his preferences made this an uncomfortable area to tread, so after applying these first settings he paused.
Darren doubted Jeff would be honest in a conversation focusing on Jeff's physical insecurities and what he would want to change about himself. Yet Darren's interference took this ability from Jeff, and he didn't want something small and stupid like Jeff's natural beard growth rate or eye color to be a source of underlying resentment.
Darren thought about it and set Jeff up with a superpower. Jeff's body would rapidly accommodate him. If Jeff wants to become bulky in the future and let the world know how strong he is, his body would beef up in just a few weeks. If he wants to be a blonde or ginger? He could simply shave his hair off and let it grow back. He can even change his hair growth rate to make the process faster. At will, Jeff could change his height, eye color, greying, wrinkles, balding, or body fat. Within a few weeks, Jeff could become a completely new man. Truly a master of disguise.
Final tweaks and additions were made and Darren applied his masterpiece to Jeff, beginning work on his next phase. It took him a minute to get out of the profile editing area but the next task was much faster.
Darren went to Jeff, "Hey buddy, our plans for today are ready. Come with me." Excitement glimmered in his eyes.
Jeff took a moment to turn off the TV and console and replace the game and controller. As they passed the bathroom, Jeff popped in expecting to see he had changed, but the week or two he had aged in the last few minutes had little effect on him.
