Sitting in her sister Katie's home, Gloria and her friends now reflected on everything. Once again they found themselves confronted with time travelers and a dystopia future.
Gloria and her friends now sat in Katie's living room, holding an emergency meeting. Caleb was still hurt from his encounter with Darren after inadvertently being impaled by a tree branch. "How you holding up dude," Adam asked, the burly college man hovering over the young hunter. "Spark was able to fix me up pretty good," Caleb winced. "Gonna be sore for a few days. By the way, you've been looking good on the field Adam. Been trying to catch all of Michigan's games." Adam grinned, clapping his friend on the shoulder before apologizing as Caleb grunted in pain. "So are we looking at another timeline war," Felicia asked.
"Its looking like it," Gloria sighed. "And considering we're all away at college it's going to make things difficult." The group nodded, a grim expression on their faces. "Sasha and I can keep an eye on things," Duke stated. "If something serious happens we'll send word."
"All good in theory but it means we're all going to have to learn that teleportation spell," Jackie replied. "I'm still trying to get it down but I worry. What happens if I can't get here in time? Ann and Stephanie could get hurt." The others nodded in response. The group was scattered at the moment across the country and with Gloria and Felicia being the only ones that knew the spell by heart, they worried they wouldn't be able to help. As the group continued to talk they noticed Katie and Kellie exit the kitchen side by side with Darren and his friends.
"So," Katie started. "After alot of thinking, Kellie and I have decided to let Darren and Steph stay here. Gail and Hannah will be staying across the street at moms." Gloria gave her sister a firm nod, furrowing her brow as she glared at Darren. "Are you sure that's a good idea," she asked. "Afterall he almost killed my boyfriend."
"You mean future husband," Naomi interrupted. "We all heard what that guy Evan was insinuating." Gloria and Caleb now blushed, awkwardly glancing at one another. Their future nephew, Evan Harris, had dropped a tremendous revelation on all of them. Not only was he the son of Katie and Gloria's kid sister Lynne, he also insinuated that Caleb and Gloria were married in the future. While the college couple loved eachother and had no desire to break-up, the idea of marriage was something neither one fathomed at this point. "Babe," Diane sighed. "Really not the time. You're freaking them out."
"Not to change the subject but Gloria has a point," Sasha stated. "This kid almost killed Caleb and also what's up with the robots?"
"Soul Drives."
Sasha paused, raising an eyebrow as she stared at the wolf Droid before her. "Hannah and I are Soul Drives," Steph stated. "Robots with souls. We live to serve humankind but we have our own wants and desires."
"How come Hannah can become human and you can't," Gloria asked. "A bit of magic on Darren's part," Hannah boasted. "Afterall he is the Catalyst. He kind of made me a shape-shifting Soul Drive. I was just a regular human and asked if he'd let me try this." Gloria and the others nodded, not quite understanding why someone would want to become a robot but then again they had seen stranger things since they acquired magic. "So what about Gail," Gloria asked. "Can she turn into a robot or does she have magic?"
"I'm um just a genius," Gail stammered, the auburn haired 15 year old fidgeting under their gaze. "In the future I was Darren and Hannah's 8th grade math teacher before we all became friends." The college age friends nodded, looking between Gail and Darren as the pair exchanged shy looks. "So when did you two start dating," Naomi asked.
"I'm not dating Gail," Darren exclaimed, the teen nervous looking between everyone. Gloria and her friends raised an eyebrow, obviously neither one had confessed their feelings yet but it was obvious the pair were crushing on one another. "Wait you and Gail are dating," Hannah asked in surprise. "Since when and why didn't you say anything? I'm your best friend Darren!"
"But we're not," Gail replied nervously. "Darren and I are just friends." Katie sighed, stepping in between the pair of flummoxed teens. "We can talk about this later. Right now we have to focus on this Boss character and the Normal."
"And finding Fukushu," Darren added.
"Did you say Fukushu," Duke interrupted, the others casting him a surprised look. "You know him," Gloria asked. Duke nodded, shuddering as he continued. "Only rumors that I heard from the dungeon," he said. "He was the most fearsome kitsune general that ever existed. The guards talked about him like he was some sort of boogeyman. He was supposedly the most brutal and ruthless warrior anyone in the supernatural world had ever seen."
"He's not lying," Katie stated. "I've fought him to a stand still and he nearly crippled Claudia years ago."
"He also trained me," Darren added. "In my time he was beginning to reform. Work closer with wizards as we tried to stop the Normal. Him and Abolith probably don't know we're here. I have to find him to make sure his family is okay."
"Something tells me he won't exactly be thrilled to see you," Sasha said flatly. The others nodded in agreement, finding Fukushu let alone talking with him was going to be no small task. "Regardless," Kellie now interrupted. "Katie and I talked. Darren and his friends are probably going to be here for awhile. We've enrolled them in high school and they're going to be staying with us until we stop the Normal."
"So what do you want us to do," Gloria asked. "Well none of you are quitting college thats for sure," Katie stated. "I'll jeep you updates on everything and if there is a problem we'll summon you back here. Until that happens though, keep training and be on the lookout for anything strange. I have a feeling this is going to get ugly before it's all said and done."
