Katie sighed, sipping her coffee as she gazed out her window. With everything going on, she now asked her friends to come over to talk. It also meant her home was now overrun with preschoolers. Thankfully, she had a reluctant sitter.
"You know I would probably be more helpful in whatever you're planning Aunt Katie!"
Katie and the others now glanced over at her time traveling nephew Evan Harris. The auburn haired wizard and his girlfriend Dhiriti appeared to have their hands full as they now dealt with five preschoolers. "You look like you're doing just fine future boy," Claudia smirked. "Besides, you and your girlfriend look like you could use the practice."
"Thanks Claudia," Evan grumbled, the man now picking up a squirming Haley. The 3 year old kintaro protesting, as he now tried to bargain with her. "Cmon Haley do you really have to fight me over everything!"
"Should we help him out," Samantha asked, as she watched the couple. "Nah he's fine," Mika said dismissively. "Besides, we have more important things to talk about."
"Shouldn't we wait for Mary and Kellie," Samantha asked. "They're both working today," Katie started. "And I can catch Kellie up on things when she gets home. Besides, pretty sure Mary knows more than we do considering she's around the school." The others nodded in response. Since the arrival of Darren and the others, Mary Elise had found herself speaking with not only the time displaced teenagers but her students and S.P.E.A.R as well. Of all of Katie's friends, Mary Elise probably knew more than anyone else. "So whats the plan," Claudia asked.
"Honestly I'm not sure," Katie sighed. "I've been speaking with that kid Darren. He has quite a few stories to tell."
"What about future boy over there," Claudia asked, gesturing towards Evan. "You know technically I'm older than you right now Aunt Claudia," Evan protested. "Technically, schmechically I've changed both your parents diapers so unless you want me asking you alot of awkward questions sit down and watch your future aunts and uncle."
Evan grumbled, once more preventing Haley from breaking something. The three year old now shifting into her anthro form, fur covering her body as she and her twin brother now sprinting around the couch, their tails knocking things off a coffee table. He had always known about his chaotic aunts penchant for destruction, he just wasn't used to her being this unreasonable. "So was this the norm for you when you were growing up," Dhirti asked. "Sort of," Evan smirked. "Still a bit weird seeing everyone I know so much younger but, it's kind of familiar at the same time. Claudia was always a smartass, Haley wanted to break things, Katie always trying to plan things out."
"And what about Morgan?"
Evan now paused, his chest tightening as he looked to the tiny blonde 4 year old. Currently his future aunt was quietly watching cartoons with her friends Kari and Tricia. Thinking back on his own childhood, he recalled how it was Morgan who would always look out for him whenever his mother and aunt would talk over something serious. It now seemed so odd that he would be looking out for her. "I'm not going to let anything happen to her Dee," he said softly. "I can't afford too."
Dhirti smiled, placing a tender kiss on her boyfriends cheek as she picked up Haley. "I'll look after the twins," she said. "You go watch Morgan and the others." Evan now gave his girlfriend a small smile, thanking her as he now took a seat between Morgan, Tricia, and Kari.
"Well the girls seem to like him," Samantha commented, noticing how her daughter and her friends now clustered around Evan as he performed simple magic tricks for them. "Yeah from what Darren told me him and Morgan were close," Katie said softly. "I guess in the future Morgan always looked out for him. Taught him magic. She even was his godmother. The bond they have is pretty strong."
"And I'm guessing Darren didn't want to go into the gory details," Mika stated. "I mean you heard what he said. He worked with this Boss character. Can we trust him?"
"I think so," Katie said somewhat apprehensively. "Listen we know our girls. They have an uncanny ability for sensing evil. Anytime he's around they flock to him. I don't think he's going to let anyone hurt them." The others nodded, their gaze still focused on Evan. Although still apprehensive about everyone from the future, they could sense Evan was trying to protect their children."So what do you want us to do," Mika asked.
"Well we're going to have to try and find out where this..Normal is," Katie stated. "Its not going to be easy though."
"I'll say," Claudia grumbled. "All of us work and have kids. The ones I would of trusted are off at college. Do you think Darren and the others can handle this?"
"Well I trust Nat," Mika stated. "Afterall she's done a great job with Kari and the twins. They did take down that hunter."
"Ugh don't remind me of him," Samantha shuddered. "Tricia still has nightmares. So do I if I'm being honest."
"But can they handle this situation," Claudia asked. "I mean Gloria and the others were on the frontline during the war. Hell they helped take down Morgan and the vampires. We sure these kids are ready?"
"I don't see any other options," Katie shrugged. "Better or worse we're going to need their help. All our futures depend on it."
