Pacing inside the Carlson home, Darren and Gail now anxiously waited, steeling a glance towards the road as they watched for their ride. "And I thought I was nervous on my dates," Katie stated.
Both teens now looked towards the young woman, noting the impish smirk on her face. "Darren will be fine," Hannah scoffed, Darren's best friend in her Spul Drive form. "He's been on dates before. Now Gail on the otherhand I'm pretty sure this is her first date." Gail now turned crimson, silently cursing Hannah's bluntness. It's not that the Soul Drive was wrong, she just didn't need it thrown in her face. "Is that true Gail," Kellie now asked, the young lawyer carrying her daughter.
"Um maybe," Gail replied sheepishly. Now both Darren and Gail were blushing furiously. What should have been a simple get together now took on far greater meaning than either one expected. "Ignore Hannah," Steph called, the wolf Droid now entering from a side room. "I've prepared Darren in the past for dates with Misaki. He's a perfect gentleman, you two will have fun and if you don't, tell me so I can talk with him Gail."
"Wow thanks Steph," Darren grumbled, illiciting a nervous giggle from Gail. "So what are you and Hannah's going to do tonight?"
"Babysitting," Steph smiled, the Soul Drive now pointing towards a 4 year old Morgan who was jumping up and down in front of Hannah. Apparently the young child absolutely loved monkeys, becoming completely enamored with Hannah since their arrival in the past. Although Hannah didn't seem enthralled with watching Morgan, she was willing to entertain the girl. "I just hope she remembers me watching her when we return to the future," she grumbled as Morgan danced around her singing monkey.
The sound of a car horn now drew everyone's attention. Glancing outside they now noticed Stephanie making her way towards the house. Opening the door, Katie and Kellie welcomed their cousin inside. "Hi Katie, HI Kellie," she said. "So, you two ready to go?" Gail and Darren nodded, Stephanie making some small talk with her cousins before they made they way back to Stephanie's car. "Don't do anything I wouldn't," Hannah yelled, causing both Darren and Gail to groan in embarrassment.
Arriving at the bowling alley, Stephanie now parked her car, allowing everyone to exit. "Any idea where Miles and Chenoa are," Travis asked as he scanned the parking lot. Stephanie now tapped her boyfriend on the shoulder, gesturing to a car that now pulled beside them. As Miles parked, Chenoa now bounded out of the passenger seat, hugging both Travis and Stephanie tightly. "Good to see you too Chenoa," Stephanie smiled. "You remember these two right?"
Chenoa now glanced at Gail and Darren, a warm smile spreading across her face as she walked towards them. As she did, Darren couldn't help but wonder what the odd sound he was hearing was. It sounded like horse hooves but much lighter. Quickly he got his answer, his and Gail's eyes going wide as they noticed Chenoa.
"Oh that's right you've never seen my legs," Chenoa smiled. Darren and Gail nodded. It wasn't that the legs were hideous, far from it. Chenao obviously took good care of her fur, the deer legs appearing well manicured with a small hoof. Still, the two teens had never seen anything like it before. "They're um different," Darren stammered. "But nice," Gail added quickly. "Very nice, we had no idea but they're really cool."
"Speaking of no idea you might want to hide those," Miles called. "I don't think the bowling alley is ready for that." Chenoa nodded, Darren watching as the girl waved her hand. Instantly where two deer legs had been were now two human legs. Chenoa now placing her shoes and socks on as the couples made their way inside.
As the couples entered, Gail now gazed at the bowling alley in wonder. "Dont tell me people don't bowl in the future," Miles asked. "No they have bowling," Gail answered. "Its just....I haven't been bowling ever. Always wanted to though."
"Seriously ever," Stephanie exclaimed. Gail shook her head no. Growing up she had never really had time. So consumed with her schooling, she and thw other prodigies had missed out on alot of their childhood. "Well then it's your lucky night," Stephanie smiled. "More like our lucky night," Miles boasted. "Its girls vs boys Steph. Gail's never bowled and its only Chenoa's third time."
"Whatever Miles," Stephanie replied dismissively. "Why don't you help Darren and Travis get the food order while we grab our balls." As the boys now left, Stephanie and Chenoa now smirked as they approached Gail, walking with her as they now searched for a bowling ball. "So," Stephanie asked. "How long have you and Darren been a thing?"
"I don't think we're a thing," Gail stammered. "I mean we're friends but..it's not like we've um...done anything as a couple or anything." Stephanie's eyes went wide, the gravity of the situation now hitting the ebony haired teen. "Holy shit so this is your first date?"
"Yeah," Gail replied sheepishly. "Ever."
"Steph I'm going to take the sparkly blue one," Chenoa called happily, holding a bowling ball over her head. Obviously the teen had missed Gail's confession as Stephanie hastily called her over. Confused, Chenoa now approached giving her friend and Gail a curious look. "This is Gail's first date ever," Stephanie exclaimed.
"Really," Chenoa gasped. "But I thought her and that boy were dating."
"They weren't," Stephanie replied. Chenoa nodded, still shocked before her eyes lit up with excitement. "Stephanie we have to make sure Gail has the best first date ever!"
As Stephanie and Chenoa now began to excitedly plan, Gail could feel her cheeks burn. Hopefully she could get through this date without completely embarrassing herself.
