Jeff, noticing that the bedroom door was slightly ajar, moved forward in the ball toward the hallway. As before, the momentum carried him, and he struggled to control his direction. After accidentally bumping into the dresser, he was able to maneuver himself through the door and out into the hallway.
In the hall, he took time to think. Maybe life as a pet isn't so great after all. He was small, weak, and helpless. He had to free himself. The first step was to get out of that ball.
His attempts to open the ball's compartment were in vain. Every attempt only made him roll further. As he kept trying, he was interrupted by a loud commotion. It sounded like childish giggling.
Curiosity got the better of Jeff, and he rolled down the hallway toward the sound. It led to a room, the door of which was fully open. As Jeff strolled forward into the bedroom, he was taken aback by what he saw. Two more humanoid mice. Although they seemed smaller than Nibbles, they were still huge compared to Jeff. Both mice appeared young and dressed in feminine clothing. They were lying on the floor in front of a dollhouse, seemingly playing with dolls. Unfortunately, one of the mice noticed Jeff.
"Look!" The brown mouse pointed at Jeff.
"Huh?" The other mouse also turned in Jeff's direction. "Oh! That's my brother's human!"
Jeff decided he wasn't going to stick around and decided to bolt in the other direction. Unluckily for him, the white-furred mouse stood up and walked towards him, easily reaching him within a few footsteps. The enormous mouse picked up Jeff's ball, sending him into a state of shock.
"Can I hold him?" The brown-furred mouse asked.
"Sure!" The white mouse opened the door of Jeff's ball and put her hand inside. Jeff had nowhere to run as he was effortlessly wrapped in her furry fingers. He was soon transferred to the other mouse, who held him tightly. As much as Jeff tried to wriggle free, it was no use.
"Aw, he's so cute!" The brown mouse awed, stroking Jeff on the head with her monstrous furry finger. Jeff trembled as the two enormous dark eyes stared at him. "What's his name?"
"Um." The white mouse paused. "Oh! That's Jeff!"
"Jeff?" The brown mouse giggled. "What kind of name is that for a human?"
"My brother named him, not me!" the white mouse insisted. Meanwhile, Jeff remained in the sticky grasp of the brown mouse girl, her finger constantly poking at his head.
