At the Mortuary of Life and Death, Death had an inkling in him and knew it was time to visit someone he rarely ever went to see.
"Honey, I'm going to see an old acquaintance of mine up in Alaska." Death said to his lovely wife, Life. Life rolled her eyes knowing who he was going to go see.
"Do you have to? He seems perfectly content there now. It seems wrong to tell him of what's going on." Life suggested to her husband.
"I just have to keep him updated on some things, that's what we agreed on." Death said as he stepped out of the mortuary and walked to his car. He drove out of the mortuary parking lot and went to a rode where no people or cars could be spotted. Death then used his powers with his speed and pushed his foot down on the gas pedal and instantly he drove at a speed faster than light and was now many states away from his home and the mortuary.
He drove down the cold road of Alaska and went down a road that led to an isolated cabin practically in the middle of nowhere by a lake. As it was in the fall, the snow was just beginning to fall.
"Well now, I haven't seen you since....when was it my father died again? 400 years ago? 500?" A man said from behind him.
Death turned around to see but not surprised to see Miro Tepes standing there with a beard covering his face and a shotgun in his hand.
"It was actually 750 years ago. If you're counting, and I guess you can say I am." Death smirked.
"Well, we both know this will do shit to you, even if I fired at your finger." Miro said putting the gun down.
"How's life treating you here?" Death asked as Miro looked up a little confused. "I mean in general, I don't mean my partner." Death corrected himself.
"Well, I admit, I was hesitant at first when you and your wife set me up here and told me that my son and his queen have a good thing going right now with the vampires and other lords. But I've come to appreciate the quiet of it all. No wizards, do damphirs, no bastard sons on my mind. How is he anyway, I mean the son who disappointed me." Miro asked.
"Well, Life informed me that he recently inherited money from his deceased mother. So he's living well. Probably going to marry that girl who you knocked out at his prom." Death informed him.
"Ah, Sophie, she was always spoiling that boy. What of my real son, the new vampire lord? I take it he's living it up with his queen and domain?" Miro asked.
"Indeed, Wyatt and Kyra's children are growing quite well. Everyone there is just about enamored with them." Death said.
Miro looked over at him with an eyebrow raised.
"They've....had children? Kyra gave birth to children?" Miro asked.
"Oh, yes. Almost forgot to mention that. Five healthy dhampir children, Life was a little unsure at first about making the request, but she thought it would do your old community well. Also Lancelot is back in their employ if that matters. It seems he's also taken care of Ezekiel Kane, where as once there was a rogue vampire hunter, now there is only a vampire shell of what he once was." Death informed him.
Miro smirked at hearing all this and then began to laugh heartily.
"Wyatt, oh Wyatt, he truly is my son. I have a request now for you before you depart as I know you want to get back to your wife." Miro said.
"Oh? What might that be?"
"I'm aware there are forces out there that are trying to resurrect me, thinking I am still dead. But I want you to keep my situation from them, guide those young wizards into stopping them. Make sure there is no civil war between the vampires. Because I want my privacy right now and I want my son and grandchildren kept safe from those that might do them harm." Miro asked.
"I'll make sure Life and I guide them away from your family, so that means you've grown a conscience out here then?" Death asked.
"No, what I want is for my family to prosper and live. I have grandchildren that I want to grow up unlike my....first child. I still hold that on you and your wife, you know, I tolerate you more that anything. Keep my family safe, and my situation secret to all but you and your other half death, we're done here." Miro said as he retreated back to his cabin.
"As you wish, your former majesty." Death said as he waved off Miro. He would indeed keep this private from everyone but his wife, as she knew that Miro had resurrected himself quite a while ago but chose to live in solitary for now.
