"Nat hurry up its almost 7pm," Marisa called to her daughter. Nat replied back, saying she would be down in a moment. Glancing into her mirror, the young dhamphir now began to put the finishing touches on her costume.
While a bit old (usually) for Trick or Treating, Nat still wanted to have some Halloween fun. This led to the teenage girl and her friends deciding to attend the schools Halloween dance. The event itself was always popular with underclassmen as well as Juniors yet this would be Nat's first time attending. Gazing at her costume, Nat nodded in approval while also finding it humorous. Adorned in a short dress with wings, Nat couldn't help but find her fairy costume rather stunning. "Not bad," she smirked. "But I'm sure Spark is going to give me an earful."
Making her way downstairs, both Marisa and Liam gushed over the outfit, taking numerous photos before watching their daughter leave. "Drive safe," Marisa called. "If anything goes wrong call my cell," Liam added. Nat blushed, thanking her overprotective parents as she now drove to pick Rei up.
Twenty minutes later Nat and Rei now found themselves outside of school. Already the couple could hear music drifting from the gym. "So where are the others," Rei asked. Nat now glanced at her phone, sending off a few text messages before replying. "Well Spark and Connor are on their way," she said. "The twins, Amara, and Chenoa are inside and Travis is about to pick Stephanie up at her house." Rei nodded, nervously looking over her costume before turning to Nat. "My costume isn't too skimpy is it?"
Nat stifled a laugh as she looked over Rei's costume. Rei had decided to dress as Sailor Mercury, Nat finding the costume ironic considering Miranda's powers. The costume itself was cute, accenting Rei's slight curves, however, the skirt was much shorter than Rei was accustomed too. Nat now reassuring her girlfriend it was fine as the Asian teenager tried to pull the skirt a tad lower.
Making their way inside, the teens now scanned the gymnasium for their friends. Already they could see a sizable gathering of students milling about dressed in various and colorful costumes. Immediately the pair noticed Miranda and Amara, the Hispanic teen dressed as devil with Amara as her skeleton girlfriend. "Hey guys," Miranda called, the teen pausing as she curiously looked over Rei. "Cute outfit."
"Um thanks," Rei blushed. "Where's Miles and Chenoa?"
"Checking out the haunted house," Amara stated, gesturing outside the gym. "Apparently Stella and Pam were giving a tour to their friends. Chenoa wanted one too so they tagged along." The teens nodded to Amara's answer, their thoughts lingering on the teenagers from the future. They were still trying to understand them and while things were friendly it didn't mean that there wasn't an occasional awkward moment. "Well as long as things are quiet this should be fun," Nat said hopefully. "Yeah about that," Amara smirked, the fear demon now gesturing to a trio hanging around the refreshment table.
Nat and Rei now gawked as they noticed Hannah, Neela, and Ewart chatting. Ewart, so far, had seamlessly transitioned into high school, already becoming one of the most popular boys in his grade. Dressed as a basketball player, the teen now introduced his girlfriend and his friend to some of his classmates. "Is Neela dressed in hospital scrubs," Rei asked, to which her friends nodded. "No fair that's cheating! How can you call your job a costume."
"Well she's 15 and no one would believe she's a doctor," Miranda shrugged. "But if you're worried about losing the costume contest, pretty sure Hannah has you beat." The group now gazed at the monkey Soul Drive teenager, Hannah sporting a smug smirk as students marveled at what they thought was a costume. The plastic sheen of her skin and faux green fur making many a student how she had made it. "Okay that's super cheating," Rei huffed. "Shes already a robot! No one's gonna believe that's not a costume."
"Dont worry Rei" Nat chuckled. "We all think your costume is fantastic." A joyous laugh now emanated from the group as they began to talk. Hopefully, tonight would be a night of fun.
