As your awareness begins to focus on the dream world, you start to see something forming in the bleak darkness. You realize that your bare feet are touching "solid" ground. A glance showed that the "ground" is short, brown grass with yellowed and red leaves scattered about. A gust of wind blew around you, sending the autumn leaves flying around you.
Ahead of you is a giant, gothic fence that is over 10 ft. tall, and its graphic gate is shut tight as if to prevent anyone to enter or exit. As you make your toward the dark, metal gate, another bluster of cold air goes by you, as if some imaginary force is pushing you toward the gate. You shivered as you made your way toward the gate. You not only shivered because you were still nude and the blowing wind was making you colder but also because you felt a sense of dread and fear beyond those gates.
The closer you get to the grim-looking gate, the more you can see behind its barred bars. You can spy a couple of buildings that are dark and foreboding, with the next building being more nightmarish than the last. There are also figures that you can see but are too small to see that are walking about their daily life.
Just as you are about to reach the massive gate that stands before you, its door opens by itself. You can hear giggling beside you, but when you tried to find who was laughing there was no one there except for the strange fog bellowing around your bare feet. Seeing how exposed you are, and with nothing else to do, you made your way down to the town that you saw. You figured that at the very least there should be something there for you to wear to cover your dignity and to protect yourself from the cold wind.
By the time you made it to the first building, your feet were feeling sore from stepping on the cold, hard "ground" with its various-sized pebbles and rocks that stabbed with every step you took. It was quite fortunate that the first building is a costume store, with its wears out for anyone to see and to try on inside the shop. But as you look inside, you see something that gives you pause and makes you second guess about the world that your dream has sent you.
You can see the shop owner, who is standing behind the counter and surrounded by more costumes and accessories, but you can tell that she isn't human. What gave it away wasn't that she stood taller than you or that her short hair was pitch black with red highlights in it. No, it was because where her legs should've been was a spider's body.
The more you stare at the spider woman, the more you find oddities about her. Her hands are black with chitin as they were sewing up a costume. Hidden below her bangs are multiple eyes that not only look at her project in front of her but also stare at you with their other eyes. Even if you thought that the spider half was fake, you could easily see the furry abdomen producing silk onto a giant spool behind her. But what made the shop owner even more interesting was that she was wearing an apron and nothing else. Granted that the shopkeeper doesn't have much up top, but she still has something below the fabric to show off a little.
As you hesitated at the doorway and debated on moving away from the shop, you heard the spider woman from inside the shop as she beckoned you to come in. "Come in, come in my pet. You must be so cold out there with nothing to wear. I have some clothes and costumes for you unless you want to walk around being bare." Since you don't want to be naked anymore, and she does seem nice enough, you go inside the spider woman's parlor.
"My name is Taylor, Taylor the drider. Welcome to "The Embroidered Web" where I'm the owner and tailor. Now how can I help you, outsider?" Taylor waved her hand out to her wares that clustered the rails of her shop. "You can grab an outfit or even one of my many charms. They are free for you so there is no reason for alarms."
