Mannick ran and kept running, hoping that none of the gargoyles noticed his escape. He could already feel the magic leaking out of him as he fled into a less magical area.
By the time he stopped running, he realized he's far enough away from the frat house, a couple blocks away at least.
He panted, releasing black smoke out of his helmet head as he hoped the protection runes keeping Manny in him had weaken enough to get him out. Hopefully Manny would snap out of the changes the two studs put into him.
He looked around at the nearly empty road before he headed to a convenience store to rest as he noticed the benches.
The bench creaked and strained as he practically slammed himself on it, letting himself to calm down. He kept breathing in and out by instinct, releasing more and more black smoke and magic out quicker.
After a couple of minutes, Mannick tried to get his helmet off, hoping that the runes has weakened enough to make him detachable once more.
Still on tight.
He sighed as he got up and entered the store to browse and pass the time.
He did not noticed the bench having shifted into a more enchanted bench, made out of solid wood and fine stone all with crack lines of glowing magic rich metal.
A look around suggested to Mannick that the reality shifts didn't seem to have spread out of the frat house that far, another source of relief to him as he walked down an aisle, leaking out magic. Nearby, a pile of shoe polish shifted into metal equipment polish perfect for armor knights, swords, and other metal items.
Mannick tried to focus his thoughts away from Lord Mithral's mindset, to maintain himself as he walked around the store.
He then stopped in shock as he noticed the picture for the store's 'employee of the month', Zach.
"Uh, gonna buy something?" the cashier ask while a bored guard sat nearby. Both wearing costumes for the holiday, or at least enough of a costume without ruining their uniforms. The cashier being an action figure and the guard being a green army man, in Mannick's guess.
