"Just... browsing..." Mannick began as the two looked at him before they shrugged.
"Eh, fine, as long as you and your costume doesn't break anything." the cashier said with a groan. Mannick simply continued with the browsing, hoping that more magic drained out of him so he could get Manny out.
"Ugh, can't believe we're missing the party at the frat house." the cashier said as he went to grab a box to restock the fridges.
"Now, now, I know we got the bad shift but come on, we can have fun here. I'm sure the frat party was just people going drunk and doing dumb stuff anyway." the green face painted worker said as he went to man the cashier while keeping an eye on Mannick as he walked around, trying not to hit the shelves with his armor.
The cashier rolled his eyes as he opened the box he was carrying before he stopped. "Uh, is this a prank?" he said as he raised up what looked like a glass bottle full of red liquid.
"What is that? Wine?" the green face painted worker acting as the guard said as Mannick too looked at the bottle, feeling uneasy. "I'm pretty sure I brought the box full of bottled tea though."
"Bring it back to storage then. I hate being lectured by the manager later." the cashier said. "Ugh, leave it to Zack to ditch us for the frat party."
"Employee of the month benefits, I bet..." the green face painted worker said as he looked at the employee of the month picture. "Wait, has that always said Zach with a H than Zack with a K?" this resulted in the two store workers to turn to the photo on the wall while Mannick looked around, seeing the subtle shifts happening as floor tiles turn to stone from his boot feet, gradually spreading out.
Panicking, he tried to run out, only for the green face painted guy to stop him by moving between him and the door.
"Just because I'm not actually a guard, doesn't mean I didn't notice what you were doing."
"If you know, then I should be going out, now!" Mannick shouted.
"And leave without paying?" the green face painted guy said as Mannick swore he noticed the green paint was spreading.
"P-paying? Paying what?" Mannick asked as he found himself releasing a large puff of black smoke at the guy from his helmet head when he shouted. It caused the green faced guy to cough in shock from that.
"Uh, are you okay there or are you smoking something in that outfit?" the cashier asked as he went to Mannick. "Maybe you're overheating or something? That smoke doesn't look right."
Mannick watched in horror as the green paint continued to spread on the guy's head- Of course, the plastic army grunt assumed Lord Mithral would steal. Lord General has always fought to regain the Smith-Enchanter's attention when he moved to the armor knights-
Mannick slammed his gauntlet hands at his helmet head, wondering where that sudden thought came from.
"Lord General? What?" Mannick muttered out as the green paint seemed to drip down the guy's neck.
"What the?" the cashier said as he watched the shelves went from plain mass produced metal and plastic to wood and stone with glowing cracks. Some of the merchandise shifted as well. Plastic bottles turning into potions, notebooks turning into tomes, etc. "W-what is going on?" the cashier said with a groan as there was a pop then another.
Mannick instinctively turned to look at the cashier's foot, seeing a ball joint forming.
'This makes no sense... why are they turning into life sized toys if the store's turning into some fantasy magic store...' Mannick thought.
'Of course, Lord Generic is here. Master does love his toy collection. Generic Guy action figures and green army men, among others...' a mental thought seemed to reply back.
"M-Manny? Stop! Wake up! You're changing everything!" Mannick shouted as he feared Manny's using the leaking magic to warp the store and the two guys.
"T-this is your fault?" the green face painted worker said before he went to tackle Mannick down.
The most unfortunate timing for the protective runes to stop working, resulting in a massive crash of armor pieces and mannequin parts thrown around and a release of magic in the form of black smoke and glowing liquid within the store.
