That's when he thought about his father. Brandon wished - though he didn't utter it out loud, which would have counted as a bonafide wish - with all his heart that he never turned out like him. Talk about a deadbeat dad! Brandon's father was a typical example of having peaked in high school. He was great at football but not quite enough to make it in college afterwards. Though Brandon heavily suspected he had spent more time than necessary drinking, partying and having sex with cheerleaders and sorority girls, not to mention smoking. And probably other moronic things. His bad habits showed on his face and had stuck. His dad was clearly a bit too attached to his cans of beer and treated his mom like a domestic servant. Brandon had learned to silently despise his father, even though he had to admit that idiot was at least not violent, preferring shouting to hitting. Except for the few kicks and spankings once in a while, but in the end very rare. That didn't mean Brandon hated it when it occurred, especially to his little sister Jenny. But he watched way too much TV and he sat on the couch as soon as he was back from work, drinking and staring at the screen without stopping until it was time to go to bed. Plus, he just looked at the screen like a drooling brain-dead dude, even slouching like a true dead animal carcass. He looked at the most asinine shows. The dumber the better. it seemed. And Brandon had noticed the way he looked at half-dressed girls on the screen... In front of his mom and sister, no less! Couldn't he watch hot girls in private, at least? The guy was disgusting and Brandon couldn't believe he was actually related to him.
"Man, I just wish Dad wasn't so lazy," sighed Brandon.
The genie knew this was his cue. He magically looked into the wish. Yes, this teen's father needed to be changed for sure. What a lazy idiotic lout! This one deserved a drastic transformation. And Beldazar had less the desire to be naughty towards the young man. Perhaps he could make him and his family happier, while making his father undergo a drastic improvement. The two children, at least, deserved a better life, not to mention the mother. The father could be punished while making himself useful and much improved, even if he forgot his old life. Beldazar thought about the possibilities and then let the magic rush forth and do its work.
