You remember reading an interesting story about a meteor that started turning everyone into monsters.
No one knew this but you always had a thing for monsters. It started as an obsession as a kid but as you got older you began to develop more of an attraction to them.
You knew that it would be impossible to find a monster boyfriend in real life and gave up on it. But now with your new ring, fiction was the new reality.
And you would start by bringing the same meteor from the story into your own. Although it would be fun to transform anyone you wanted into monsters yourself, the meteor gave it an element of surprise. Besides, if you wanted to change anyone into something different your ring granted you the power.
You find the story and reread some chapters to jog your memory. After remembering enough details, you focus on the ring and imagine the same purple meteor from the story.
You feel a weird feeling as you imagine the meteor appearing in space. Heading to earth.
That’s when you realize that it’s real. And that it would arrive at night.

However, in your version you weren’t going to let anyone know about the meteor. All the world’s scientists would be none the wiser, leaving everyone exposed to the meteor’s powder and transforming into monsters.
After using the ring you realize that if the story is the same you would have to wait quite some time before the story occurred. It was still morning and the dust didn’t arrive until nighttime. Not interested in waiting, you use the ring to speed up time and to arrive at night.
You watch the world outside your window move quickly as the sun moves and is replaced by a dark sky with big clouds. Eventually the clouds give way to a storm as rain begins to fall.
You smile. Everything seemed to be happening like the story. Which meant that the dust must currently be making its way to every house and person in the United States. You were trying to decide which way to best enjoy the experience when the meteor powder slipped into your room.
As you breathed in the dust you were filled with a heavy sense of drowsiness. You realized it was the meteor’s powder but are unable to move as you become more tired. Craving sleep, you lay your head on your computer desk where you had been reading the story.
Drifting off you wake up the next day to a world full of monsters. But most importantly you wake up as a…
