Kira woke up unaware her room had been glowing like a radiation room. she got up and did her normal routine. first, she went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. due to her being half asleep, she didn't notice her sharper teeth. not only that but she saw her head was further away from the sink than yesterday.

the dull yellow stopped just shy of her mouth. her mouth slightly protruded away from her. her nose now looked a little feline and her ears had become rounder slightly. glancing at the rest of her body she gulped. her armpits and bush had grown large tufts of dirty blond hair.
her feet now had sharper nails as well except for her pinkie toes. they now looked slightly deformed and their nails were missing. she had differently grown since last night. suddenly she heard her mom coming up the steps. seemed she had gotten a better hearing.
'This is not good. what am I gonna tell her? Hey mom I'm now a hairy beast and I don't know why?' she thought as she eyed her hair in the reflection. her mind had made the click that it looked like a lion's mane with how messed up it was.
"the totem!" she yelled as she realized it must have been the culprit. She then heard a knock on the door. "Kira? Are you in there? you need to get ready for school." her mother said. thankfully she had locked the door when she came in. "yeah Mom I'll be down soon" she said.
from the other side of the door, she was worried her daughter was getting sick. her voice sounded a little deeper. "you okay sweetie. it sounds like you caught something. maybe i should come in" she said twisting the knob. "ah! no! I mean... uh... it's fine. just a sore throat. besides I'm naked right now" That last part wasn't a lie.
She was naked as a matter of fact. looking down she was her clit had grown a little and her pussy was a little more shallow than before. "okay breakfast will be done soon. I do not want you to be late." her mom said as she headed back down.
now Kira was panicking. what was she gonna do. she then thought back to the totem. she put her torn clothes on after drying off fast. She then unlocked the door and ran to her room.
on the dresser, the totem sat. its gaze still affixed to her bed. She went to grab it. it was then she heard the voice. "do not reject your gift. worry not young one. just focus on who you were." it said.
this time it seemed to come from the totem itself. Kira suddenly felt unable to take her rage out on it. instead, she did as the voice said. closing her eyes she focused on her body from yesterday. soon she felt different.
looking at her dresser's mirror she saw her old face. she felt great now that she was back to normal. however, it still felt wrong. To be more precise this current form felt wrong. it felt like she wasn't her true self.
hopefully, it was just a one-time thing and the feeling would go away. after school, she was gonna put that thing back where she found it. for some reason, she felt bad about doing that. regardless she got dressed and went downstairs. she ate more meat and eggs than before.
She guessed her change had made her hungry. thankfully her mother didn't pry and she was off to school. soon she heard Sarah behind her. "Hey Kira!" the raven-haired girl came from behind. "oh! hey Sarah" they began walking together.
"so how'd it go? Did you find the cave?" her friend asked. Kira almost stopped when she heard the questions Sarah asked. should she tell her about the cave? would she know what was happening to her? Would she go try and find the cave herself? She was struggling to tell her the truth. she didn't know how she would react.
