The next morning, the triplets decided to visit the pool for a quick dip before it got crowded.
"Besides, Daddy's probably still asleep. So we can't go anywhere else right now," Gina said.
Hearing her refer to Lannan as "Daddy" made Maxine and Nikki share a glance. Their sister was kept unaware of the Chronovac, so she had no idea that their dad was actually their single mom just yesterday before they had switched her gender just to see the results.
"Maybe we ought to make her aware," Nikki suggested.
Maxine shook her head. "No, bad idea. Gina would definitely try to take control of the Chronovac for our 'own good.' She's too goody-goody."
"Seriously?" Nikki laughed. "She joined our little party last night."
"Of course. She's still our sister. But a reality changing device is pushing it, especially if she knows we changed Mom. You know how close they are."
Nikki sighed. "Fine. Let's just go."
Soon, after changing into their bikinis, the sisters arrived at the pool only to find it filled with boys. What happened?
Seeing the three boys from last night among them, the girls approached them.
"Hey, Tony," Maxine greeted. "Weren't you guys leaving today?"
Tony and Andy exchanged looks. "Uh, the bus wouldn't start. And they can't send another one till tomorrow."
"Wow, that kinda sucks," Gina said. "I'll bet your coach was upset."
"Assistant coach, actually," Grey replied. "Our usual coach quit right before the trip. So, yeah. Bad luck all around."
"Oh." Maxine mumbled, suddenly looking guilty. "Y'know, I just remembered something I've gotta do. Hold on a sec."
Shouldering her bag, which held the Chronovac, she headed for a more private spot only to stop short in order not to crash into Lannan. "Dad!"
He seemed out of breath and none too happy. "Here you are! You know how long I've ben looking for you girls? And now I find you out here dressed like this." He gestured at her bikini. "In front of them!" He nodded at the crowd of boys pretending not to stare.
Maxine bit her lip. Her "Dad" seemed a lot more overprotective than he had been as their mom. This could be a problem.
"Aw, c'mon, Daddy," Gina pouted, coming over. "We're just gonna swim, that's all."
"Alright," their Dad answered. "You can swim once you change into a different swimsuit. Where did you even get those bikinis?"
Firmly, he started to herd his triplet daughters back inside. Maxine reached into her bag to fiddle with the Chronovac.
