FLASH!
...
At first it was quiet after the initial click from the camera in front of her unmoving eyes. Emily braced herself as the light from the camera cascaded over her unwilling inanimate form. She hoped beyond hope that the whatever happened, whatever the change was destined to be, that it would improve her situation in some way - after all, anything had to be better than being stuck as some snot-nosed brat's doll for who-knows-how-long! As the light from the camera subsided, and Emily was able to regain her senses, she found herself in a ... different ... position. Still close to the ground, but, a little higher than her doll-form allowed her. Smaller than a human... but still able to move! Emily regained a sense of control over her body that she missed dearly when she was bound in her previous cheap knockoff children's-toy form.
The first thing she noticed was her nose, as it was the first thing that immediately stood out to her. It had extended outwards in her vision, covered in some... dark fur? At the end a very animalistic looking and wet-feeling nose. On top of that, the room around her seemed almost brighter? Emily was able to see into the darker spots easier, generally having improved eyesight and smell. Emily would try to stand up, get back on her own two feet only to find that it was impossible to do in her current form, every attempt to do so ending in her falling back down onto all fours. When she looked down at the rest of her body she realized why. Standing only a little bit off of the ground, where the 'Playtime Emily' doll once sat was a small, furry, black cat! Emily! No larger than the other cat Rebecca had just willed into existence via the camera only moments prior, only this time it was some random goldfish that had been changed, it was Emily! She felt as her newly-added tail swayed almost uncontrollably behind her, her new unwanted whiskers tickling away at her face.
"Aw, are you trying to get up and look at the picture Emily? Where we go! Now I've got two pictures of my favorite pets, isn't that right, Emily? You you're just the cutest lil' thing~" Rebecca cooed in a cutesy voice one would use on their pets, the tone being more demeaning to Emily in her current situation. She was NOT trying to look at the picture, she knew what she was! She jut couldn't stand. But obviously those thoughts were never vocalized as anything more than some wayward meows coming from the black cat.
Rebecca wasn't safe from the changes, either. But unlike Emily she at least stayed the same species. Where the young girl once was, stood a much more mature looking young woman, around high-school-senior or college aged. And the tone of her voice echoed this newfound maturity. At the same time, it seemed as if her race had changed too, Rebecca taking on a more Asian-leaning appearance.
"Yeah, your owners will be so happy when they pick you up! They'll get these cute little keep-sakes from your time with me, isn't that right?" Rebecca said, reaching down and scratching Emily under one of her ears - causing Emily to quickly shake her head in an attempt to get Rebecca to stop, which she did,
"Now what's gotten you in such a fussy mood today, Emily?" Rebecca asked in a faux-frustrated tone, all theatrics to entertain a small cat which she didn't even really think could understand her outside of the tone of her voice.
After shaking her head, though, what Rebecca had said finally dawned on Emily: She wasn't even Rebecca's pet! She had just become one of the pets that Rebecca, the now high-school-senior was pet-sitting to get a bit of extra cash. If Emily wasn't able to change soon, she'd be taken 'home' by whoever this mysterious 'owner' was - and who knows when she'd get another opportunity to have the camera used on her? She had to act now! As Rebecca sat the camera on her bedside table, Emily started to make her move. Using her newfound and unfamiliar feline agility, Emily readied herself to jump up onto the bed. She tried, but managed to just miss the top of the bed scratching at the side of the mattress as she tumbled backwards onto the ground. Cats might always land on their feet, but cats without a keen sense of their abilities aren't so lucky, it seems. Emily readied herself and tried the jump again, this time barely getting it. She had the camera in her sights. She hurriedly, with her feline legs, started moving towards the camera - her one saving grace, right there! She just had to reach it. Just as she got to the camera, she...
