Diana glanced at this strange, green haired girl in front of her. Everyone of her instincts told her to inform Rick of her presence. This strange girl was not authorized to be here and Diana knew Rick would want to deal with her personally. Instead, Diana found herself saying something surprising.
"Hide!"
Tricia did as she was told. Whatever was going on with Diana, she realized was dangerous. Quickly ducking into a closet, the green haired teen quietly closed it, her breathing shallow as she strained to listen.
"Oh hey there you are," Rick smiled. Diana turned, watching the high school Senior approach. Rick was all smiles, dressed in a hooded sweatshirt and jeans as he placed Dr. Eastlys potions on the kitchen counter. "Good evening sir," Diana stated, her tone almost robotic in its tenor. Rick chuckled, finding the agents mannerisms almost comical. "You can relax Diana," he grinned. "No one's around. I wanted to stop in, congratulate you on the great work you've done."
"Thank you sir," Diana replied, the teen pausing as she stared at Ricks clothing. "Sir may I ask why you're dressed like that?"
"Never been one for a uniform," Ruck shrugged. "And the Boss doesn't get on my ass about it. Mostly, he's concerned with mastering this ring." Rick now held up his hand, Diana getting a good look at the non descript golden ring embedded with a small jewel. "Won't bore you with the details but it's pretty powerful. I'm sure you've heard of the Ring of Change right?"
"Yes sir I have."
"Good," Rick stated, the teenage boy now approaching, a smile on his face as he placed a hand on Diana's shoulder. "You've done great this year agent. The information you gathered on Travis, Chenoa, their friends, even the Catalyst. I just wanted to say thank you and to wish you a Merry Christmas. I'm expecting big things next year as we look to enact all of our plans."
Diana nodded yet she could feel her throat go dry. There was s nagging feeling as she gazed into Ricks eyes. Something bad was about to happen but she didn't know what. She was a sleeper agent, meaning she was on a need to know basis in regards to the Normals plans. That was how it had been when she attempted to abduct the Catalyst. Whatever Rick was planning, Diana knew it would involve her.
What was worse for Diana though was the possibility of Rick discovering the strange green haired girl hiding in her broom closet. At best Diana and this mystery girl would be forced into re-education. At worse, Diana shuddered at what Rick would do with his Ring of Change.
Rick furrowed his brow, reaching into his pocket to grab his cellphone. "Damn," he sighed. "Looks like the Boss wants an executive meeting." Sighing, the teen shoved his phone back into his pocket before offering Diana a warm smile. "Anyway Diana you did great this year," he said. "Happy holidays, I'll be in touch." As Rick exited her home, Diana let out a sigh of relief. Leaning against the wall, she could feel her pulse racing, a thin film of sweat forming on her brow. Why was she so nervous? Did it have to do with these memories and this mysterious girl?
"Dai?"
Diana glanced over, watching as the mysterious teenage girl now slowly opened the closet door. This girl looked petrified, her eyes looking like saucers on her ebony face. "What's going on," she asked nervously. "Dai, who was that? What the hell is a Catalyst? Who's Travis and Chenoa? Babe, please, tell me what's going on?!"
Diana bkinked, this girl seemed so familiar yet so foreign at the same time. The name, Tricia, there was something about that name. Memories flooded Diana's mind, causing her to wince in pain. Flashes exploding in Diana's mind like fireworks that seemed so real. A walk through the park, feelings of nervousness as she marched in a protest, a kiss under the stars. What were these memories and feelings?
Diana's breathing was shallow, her eyes wide in fear, as she turned towards this mysterious girl Tricia and uttered the only two words she could think of.
"Help me."
