Making his way into the the Bosses office, Casseus could see the assembled lieutenants anxiously looking at one another. This meeting was different than the ones previously, the Boss having assembled only a handful of individuals. Watching the hooded figure of the Boss pace, Casseus now wondered just how ugly this meeting was about to become?
"Anyone want to tell me why I'm angry," the Boss declared, raising his arms in the air. "Anyone? Casseus? Choon Hee? Rick? C'mon you're telling me no one has any clue why I would be absolutely furious?" Casseus glanced around, noting that this meeting involved not only the people he mentioned but Hinata and Blackbird as well. The kitsune and vampire assassins standing off to the side, watching the assembled group carefully.
Now Casseus was worried, the Boss appeared incensed about something but was vague as to what. All Casseus could hope for is that he wasn't the one in the cross hairs.
"Judging by the blank expressions on your faces no one has a fucking clue," the Boss exclaimed. "So let me tell you, why the fuck are we not winning?!" The Boss now began to pace, reaching into the folds of his robe before slamming a stone down on his desk. "See this," he said angrily. "This is a sell stone. Think of it as a magic shield. The problem with it is that Demeter is the one who got it. Do you have any idea how much I loathe giving that hippie goddess any credit?" No one had an answer. To Casseus knowledge, he wasn't quite sure what the Boss’s relationship with the Olympian goddess was. "Casseus what have you dug up on the O'Toole's?"
"The O'Tooles Boss," Casseus stammered. "Yes Casseus," the Boss said, his voice thick with sarcasm. "The O'Tooles. You know, the family with the all powerful wizards? The ones that could fuck up all of our plans? Those O'Tooles."
"Of course," Casseus blushed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "It appears that the grandparents have recently acquired magic. Both grandparents are able to assume the forms of teenage majokko, similar to what Felicity received acquired."
"Perfect," The Boss groaned. "More magical fucking teenagers. Choon Hee how is Felicity doing? Please tell me you have some good news."
"Shes adjusting," Choon Hee replied, the kumiho swishing her tails anxiously. "But, she's a bit frustrated right now." From beneath his hood, the Boss’s eyes now began to glow a violent red as he glared at the kumiho. "Well better get her un-fucking-frustrated real quick! The last thing I want is to deal with another magical fucking teenager trying to take us down. I got enough fucking teenagers to deal with! Find out what she wants and give it to her."
"She wants to run the One Humanity," Choon Hee stated. "And she wants to be an adult again."
"Yes on the One Humanity No on the adult," The Boss said quickly. "I don't know if that magic mascot of hers will take off if she grows up. She doesn't like it, throw money at her. If she's still pissy tell her to come see me!" Choon Hee nodded, the kumiho turning to leave before the Boss called her back.
"One more thing Choon Hee," the Boss stated. "I want you to take Blackbird, find Vanessa the Mad Queen." Choon Hee paused. "The Mad Queen sir?"
"Yeah the vampire Mad Queen," he said. "S.P.E.A.R has been trying to capture her. Take Blackbird, find Vanessa, offer an alliance. Alpha that Soul Drive we brought with us and Remy have been working on cybernetic implants for vampires. Offer those to Vanessa to create a vampire army and see if she wants our help overthrowing the Tepes family. I'm getting real tired of the vampires helping out S.P.E.A.R." Choon Hee nodded, motioning for Blackbird to follow as they now left the office.
"Rick," the Boss said. "Look, you've been doing good but quit fucking around. Get the information you need on the Deer Girl and the Grim Reaper and make your move on one or the other."
"I'll see what I can do sir," Rick replied.
"Dont get cocky though," the Boss warned. "I've been doing this for awhile. This group of wizards have a knack for snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. You fuck around and they will end you. Understand?" Rick nodded, the Boss dismissing him before turning to the kitsune assassin. Hinata smoothing out her uniform as the Boss approached.
"We've never really had a chance to talk," he said. "But, I knew your dad. Cassidy was probably the best soldier the Normal had. When I took over as the Boss, he was the one I relied on."
"Thank you sir," Hinata replied. Despite the kitsunes desire to remain in human form, the acknowledgement of her father now caused a wave of emotion to wash over her. The kitsunes ears now shifted to the top of her head as her four black tails wagged with pride. "I'm sorry sir," Hinata apologized, trying to calm her emotions. "Don't be," the Boss said warmly. "A little bit of pride in your old man is perfectly acceptable." Hinata nodded, standing at attention as the Boss now spoke. "I need some of these wizards dead Hinata. Do your old man proud and get rid of one or two of them."
Hinata nodded, quickly exiting room and leaving only Casseus and the Boss. "Casseus," the Boss stated. "You and me got a job to do. I think it's time we resurrect your old boss."
