Aside from Ty, there were three other slaves. Two women and a man, each of different races. One woman was a dark elf, who was struggling in the midday sunlight. Dark elves usually lived underground, and were adapted to the underground conditions. This resulted in them having a sensitivity to the light of the sun. Her name was Kayera. She looked the worse off of the four, the exertion of their flight with the bad reaction she was having to to the sunlight meaning she was panting, grateful for the shade of the tree she was sheltering under. Her clothing was torn, showing scars on her torso and legs that looked to have been caused by goblin daggers. He would have to check those properly later. If they got infected out here, they were miles away from any real medical help.
The second woman was a silver-skinned tiefling. Ty's knowledge of this world told him that the goddess he followed, the Steel Angel, had once been a devil, and the silver-skinned tieflings were descended from her. The tiefling was the least exerted by the run. Not only did her resistance to heat mean she could run for longer without overheating, but she also had muscle in several places. This suggested she was probably an adventurer of some kind, but without her gear, Ty couldn't easily tell what class she was. Her name was Argenti.
The man was a wood elf named Oaklin, who seemed even more at home in the forest they had escaped into. He was giving the dark elf hostile looks, but she didn't notice, too exhausted from their escape. Ty would have to keep an eye on them. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat. It had been uncomfortable before, but it felt more uncomfortable now. Making sure the others were occupied, he put his hand down the back of his pants to check his backside. It had definitely grown larger than when he had been sitting in the cage, but that wasn't the most unusual part: a slight nub was at the end of his tailbone, which was slowly, very slowly, growing longer. He looked over to Argenti, who was gathering loose branches and leaves to make a fire, her silver tail swishing behind her. Was that what was happening? Was Ty growing a tail?
