So Andrew then decided to refuse putting it on.
"No," he simply said.
"No?!!?" said the voice, simultaneously outraged and disbelieving. "Why ever not?"
"Your deal sounds fishy at best," retorted Andrew, with a good amount of gumption, after all. "I don't mind being powerful, just not a big scaly lizard. I don't know what you look like and the idea of having you in the back of my head for the rest of my live... Ugh... No thank you. I prefer being alone in my own mind. Furthermore, you might want to control me and gain enough power to do so. For those reasons, I think it best to leave you alone."
The voice within the ring was silent and Andrew even thought that it had given up entirely, but then it boomed thunderously, full of rage and revenge.
"FINE. AS YOU DO NOT TRUST ME AND HAVE NO INTEREST IN BEING A DRAGON, YOU SHALL STILL BECOME ONE. I WIL REGRESS YOU TO AN EGG AND YOU CAN HAVE NEW HAPPY PARENTS TO RAISE YOU. YOU WON'T ESCAPE THEIR CONTROL. AND TO PUNISH YOU FURTHER, YOUR NEW BODY WILL BEAR SOMETHING YOU'LL HATE!"
A flash of light blinded Andrew and he could feel himself projected somewhere. When he gathered his wits back, the young man could only feel being stuck in a tight place. A place oddly oval, dark, warm and moist. There were dull sounds from beyond that he could not identify. But he knew the dragon within the ring had told the truth and cursed him. He was now a baby dragon waiting to be hatched. Oh no... What would like be out there? Would he really have to deal with being a lizard and possess new parents? Ugh, please, no! Already having two human ones and siblings were bad enough! He did not want to repeat that ordeal! And... What was the part about him now being something he'd hate? All this did not bode well for Andrew...
