“Oh what the hell, why not?” You say to your newfound mermaid companions. “This is too amazing to just walk away from… literally. I just have one question.”
Tera folds her arms and watches you closely. “That’s fair enough. In fact, you’re surprisingly down for all this, for an ex-human, aren’t you?”
You look down bashfully. “I guess so… I mean, my life till now didn’t really have much worth going back to. Boring job, crappy appartement, unlucky in love, family that’s gone or not worth going back to…”
The beautiful raven haired specimen with the amethyst tail nods in appraisal. “Sounds about right. That’s how the whole mermaid thing works. If you’re dissatisfied with your life, there’s a chance this place finds you. This cave, the enchanted water, the queen’s magic, it doesn’t just show up to anyone. Mermaids wouldn’t be a secret up above otherwise.”
You try to keep up with her explanation as best you can, but you find it hard to concentrate on anything but descending into a great big love nest with this pod of mermaid before you, even as the other three continue on making love heedless of the world around them.
Miranda’s voice is what drags you back to attention. “But you had a question? Oh! What’s your name anyway?”
“I’m Rebecca, but you can call- Right! question!” You snap. “It’s… several, now that I think about it. Why meet the queen for starters? What’s this about how I showed up here because I was… bored? Oh yeah, and why do I want to hump so badly?”
Miranda glanced over to Tera and the third mermaid. “Do you want to take them, or should I?”
The purple tailed one spoke up, “I’m the senior here, I’ll take care of it. So first of all, the queen is Argatah, and she’s been around here since pretty much ever. ‘Here’ isn’t Earth, mind you. This is her personal refuge, a kind of second chance for women like us who're just… kinda bored to death of the human life.” She regards you understandingly as you look at her, but struggle to stay looking at her eyes. “And when it comes to the libido… it’s part of being a mermaid. Mermaid 101 is more or less this: we don’t age and stay in our prime forever. You have perfect pitch now, so look forward to some great singing. You can eat pretty much anything, but you can’t starve so it’s just for taste basically. Of course, we’re young and free all that time, and we’re more or less designed to be incredibly erotic creatures. Sex multiple times a day is the way of life here, and pretty much any mermaid you meet is happy to help a girl out…”
She glances between you and Miranda. “But a mermaid also bonds to her first transformee, you’ll be joined at the hip as lovers… if you decide to stay.”
Miranda smiles at you. “And that’s why we need to see the queen. There’s a ceremony, it’s meant to bond you to the mermaid sea and us to each other.”
“So if this is too much, you can leave and forget all this, no pressure, but you won’t get a second chance at this life either, so it’s up to you. But once you follow us, there’s no going back.” Tera concludes.
