Jen was very thrilled, yet also very scared by the changes that are happening to her. As the bus drives down the road, she starts to wonder if she can still hear her own voice over the chatter, radio, and general ambiance abord.
She tries to say Hello to another student, but no sound seem to have came out of her mouth. She quizzically said Hello again, but there's still no sound. She then tries to screams out loud, but not even so much as a peep has left her mouth.
It's happening. Kyle's curse is gradually taking affect. Jen is now lost her ability to make any sounds. Even with her voice. She is now drafted into the act, and now her costume is starting to complete.
Jen starts to feel a cold chill on her face, and she knows what's happening next. Her white face is being painted on, and she can feel the color draining from her face as she ponders what her new silent life will be like.
She braces herself for the rest of her skin to follow in losing color...but it doesn't. Very curiously, the freezing sensation merely stopped with her face. Leaving the rest of her skin still colored. Jen pondered if the freezing was just the air conditioning that was being blown across the bus.
But when the bus stopped and all the students start to leave, Jen looks into the mirror to see what happened: Her face is now white with red lips, just as Kyle warned her. A perfect snow white with some rosy cheeks and a black outline surrounding her face, making her complexion look like a mask.
She wants to get a longer look at herself, but the crowd of students pushed her down the aisle and off the bus, not registering that this new mime girl has suddenly appeared on board. While walking down the aisle, Jen would run her gloved hands across her face to feel the makeup that appeared on top of it. But her white face doesn't feel like makeup. It feels like her a new part of her skin.
Jen is now outside on the school grounds, and she stands around with concern. Some people are starting to stare at this new mime, and she needs to think of what to do now that this curse has taken hold.
