Where had they gone wrong? That was all Mia could think of as she entered school. She and Annie had trained hard, improving their skills all to be soundly beaten by a rogue kitsune assassin named Hinata. Just the thought of what could have happened if Akira hadn't shown up made the teen shudder.
Right now Annie was speaking with Akira,. She had been hurt the worse and Akira worried that while the physical injuries would heal, the mental scars would linger for quite sometime. Hopefully, with a return to school some normalcy could return. As she now looked around for Lilith, she could see a light purple point of light racing toward her.
"Mia!!!"
Faye now transformed, growing in size from a small purple fairy into a petite teenage girl with sparkly purple hair. The fairy turned human now leaped at her friend,, squeezing her in a bear hug. "I was worried," she said quickly. "I heard you almost died! Are you okay?" Mia nodded sadly, looking into the petite teens eyes. "I'm okay Faye," she said sadly. "Annie got the worse of it." Faye said nothing, hugging her friend tightly.
"You may say you're okay but I can sense that you're not."
Mia glanced up, noting the mummy Pryyha approach as well as Drake. The mummy girl was wrapped in clean white linen, her trendy teenage clothing over her wrappings. Gazing at the teen, she could see a a grim expression on her dried, darkened face. "Is it that obvious P?"
"Quite obvious," Pryyha replied, the mummy now trying to comfort her friend with a hug. "This wasn't your fault Mia. Neither you or Annie could have known that our enemies had such a fearsome weapon." Mia offered the mummy a small smile, appreciating her friend trying to cherry her up. "And hey you'll get a rematch att some point," Drake offered. "And next time, I'll be there to even the odds."
Mia stifled a laugh at Drakes boast. The dragon was currently in his anthropomorphic form, standing around 6 feet tall with his scaly purple wings spread out behind him. The teens scaly purple skin and large muscles straining the hooded sweatshirt he wore while hos digigrade, clawed, feet dug into the tiles of the hallway. Drake was always so self assured, confident that as a dragon he could take on anything. "Maybe," Mia said. "But you might need more than just dragon fire."
"I'll just charm her with my good looks then," Drake smirked, cutting through the tension to get the others to laugh. "Has anyone seen Lilith," Mia asked. "I wanted to check on her."
"I think I saw her heading into Akiras office," Faye said. "Shes probably checking on Annie."
"You sure she's okay," Drake asked. "I mean, she's kinda scary looking." Mia nodded, after getting to know Lilith, she found the girl to be a bit rough around the edges but trustworthy. "Shes cool," she said. "You just got to get to know her a little."
"She seems okay to me," Pryyha shrugged. "I've sensed alot of sadness within her but there is a light underneath her darkness."
"I've never understood Pryyhas empathic abilities but she's usually not wrong," Faye shrugged. "So any idea what our next move is going to be?"
"Akira wants us to take it easy," Mia said. "But we still need to be ready. The One Humanity or the Normal aren't going anywhere. If we just sit back and let Akira or Annie’s parents handle things, we're sitting ducks." The teens nodding, casting a anxious look around the hallway of the school. Mia and the others may have tasted defeat in their first real test but, they would be ready the next time.
