It still seemed so odd to Misaki to hear people talk of hear uncle. Eighty years from now, before moving to the states, her great grandmother and Akiras sister Aiko would talk of her brothers heroics. He had devoted his life to defending the next generation of wizards, his feats legendary. Fighting his way through 100 vampires, fighting Fukushu to a draw, there were far too many deeds to account for. Now in the past, traveling through the halls of the school Akira provided security for, she couldn’t help but admire her uncle.
The five tailed kitsune was the talk of the school. Misaki was sure things had been blown out of proportion but the story remained the same. A rogue kitsune assassin tried to kill five students at the school, including the werewolf princess and her uncle had soundly defeated her. Whether it was student or faculty, all admired Akira for his bravery and devotion to being the guardian of this school. It helped put many in town at ease.
Still, Misaki worried. This kitsune assassin was an unknown. In the future Misaki had faced the Normal more often than she cared to remember. She had faced many a weapon they had thrown at Darren and the other but, a four tailed kitsune was new. Had the Normal altered history so much that they recruited a kitsune into their ranks? Opening the door to Akiras office, the teen now glanced inside.
Akira was present, the five tail kitsune sporting a tailored dark blue suit. Currently it appeared he was tidying up his office, dusting the trophies he had collected over the years. Misaki was always surprised how calm her uncle was, even after being blinded in the future. The kitsunes tails now swayed back and forth, seemingly unfazed at the fact he recently saved a group of teenagers from certain death. "Uncle Akira?"
Akira turned, a small smile on his face. "Misaki come in," he said, useing one of his tails to pull out a chair for Misaki. "I take it you heard what occurred with your friends." Misaki nodded, taking a seat as she studied Akira carefully. "I did," she replied. "I'm amazed how calm you are considering how skilled this assassin was. She nearly killed Annie, Lilith, Mia, and Winery with ease."
"I see you've been in contact with Aiko," he chuckled. "Aiko has a tendency to worry about my safety. She forgets I have faced far worse in my 480 years of life. And their were five girls present, everyone seems to forget about Felicity."
"I haven't and that's what I wanted to talk to you about. As well as this mysterious Hinata." Akira raised a furry eyebrow, leaning back in his chair as his niece now spoke.
Over the next 15 minutes, Misaki now spoke of her suspicions. She found it odd that Felicity was the only one who was not attacked. Although Akira explained that the girl had no powers, Misaki wasn't so sure. She thought she sensed something within the girl and in her opinion it made no sense that this assassin would leave any survivors. "There's something I don't trust about her," Misaki continued. "From what I've heard this assassin was thorough. After she eliminated the wizard from the other timeline, she wasted no time attacking the others. It appears she wanted no witnesses."
"Perhaps," Akira replied rubbing his chin. "But I doubt it. Still, I shall keep an eye out for Felicity." Misaki nodded, watching as a small smirk spreading across Akiras vulpine face. "I see you are observant of a situation. Exploring every angle. Did my sister teach you this?"
"No uncle you did."
Akira chuckled softly, noting the coy smile on his future nieces face. Obviously the pair were close in the future if he had taken the time to train the girl. "Point taken," he replied. "Out of curiosity, this Normal. Do you know if they had a kitsune among their ranks in the future?"
"No," Misaki stated. "And up until the attack I had never heard of the Asaya clan. Do you you anything about them?"
"No and that is concerning," he said. "I will talk with some of my contacts, perhaps they can enlighten me on their history." As Misaki turned to leave, Akira called for her once more. "Please be careful Misaki, I fear that whoever this assassin is, we haven't seen the last of her."
