Andrew grinned when she arrived at the hotel's main lobby. There across the room were three of her friends, finishing up registration.
First was Yuki. She was a mousey girl, short even for most women. She had brown hair tied in braids, large glasses, and freckles on her face. And she had a shy and quiet personality to go with her mousey appearance.
Next was Sasha. To Josh, she was a blonde bombshell, easily more attractive than Andrew was as Anna. Josh would've considered marrying her instead of Anna, but she was a little too vain for his tastes. Not that he wouldn't mind a little fling with her.
Finally, in stark contrast to Yuki's mousey persona, Maya was a fox. Literally, she was an anthropomorphic fox, with long hair to match her rust-red fur. She was also confrontational, and willing to protect her friends. She had left a few male chauvinists with clawed faces as evidence of this.
Indeed, Maya was not a fox as a result of arriving at the Transformation Resort, but had already been one. Anthros like her were pretty rare out in the world, but were largely accepted among humans as though they were perfectly normal. Interestingly, there's no mention of anthros in history before the 70s... which just so happens to be when the Transformation Resort first opened. By this point, that little tidbit of information had become a fun piece of trivia on various web sites. But just like the existence of real-life furries, people just accepted it.
As for Maya, Josh had sometimes wondered if she was really born as a furry. Though an adult (the resort was an adults-only one, age regressions aside), she was young enough that it's possible her parents had visited the resort years ago and became foxes. But it was possible that Maya herself had visted the resort, and been age-regressed into a fox. Even if she had, though, the resort rewrites realities and memories for all guests leaving (except through VIP powers), so not even she would know if she had started out human.
That left Heather, who wouldn't show up until tomorrow morning. In the meantime, two of the women would be rooming together, while the third would have a room to themself until Heather joined them.
Andrew excitedly dashed across the lobby to greet her friends, an action that once again left her secret passenger feeling out of control. She skid to a stop in front of her friends, who were more than a little surprised to see a white tiger on the loose. While Sasha slowly backed away, Yuki ran off. "Guys, don't worry, it's me!"
Sasha and Maya were shocked to see the white tiger speak. Yuki, however, didn't dare look back to see who was talking, and had left the lobby.
Sasha was the first to realize who the tiger was. "Anna? Is that you?"
Andrew nodded and sat down. "Neat, huh?"
Sasha breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh gosh, next time give us a warning. You nearly scared us half to death!"
"Speak for yourself," quipped Maya. "And that's a good look for you, Anna. Welcome to the fur-and-tail club."
"Oh my gosh, are you a MALE tiger?" Sasha was pointing toward Andrew's crotch, which she could see between her front legs. Andrew lifted one to allow her friends to get a better view, which once again made Josh feel very self-concious. If he were in control, he'd actively try to hide his genitals.
"Yeah, Josh decided it'd be fun if we spent the day as twin brothers. My male name is Andrew."
"Interesting. And speaking of your fiancé," questioned Maya, "where is he right now?"
"Not sure. Last I saw him, he got turned into a rubber mouse."
"You don't say?" Maya smirked. "Given the chance, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on him like that."
Josh found himself thankful to be occupying Andrew's body. He didn't know any of Andrew's friends that well, but Maya had taken a particular disliking toward him. With his VIP powers, though, he was certain he'd be able to change her attitude toward him.
Sasha appeared to be thinking, fingers on her chin. "Out of curiosity, if you're brothers, do you still have the same parents as before?"
Andrew shook his head. "No, me and Josh apparently share his parents, now."
"That explains it. Your mom's number disappeared from my contacts, and when I tried dialing her number, and she acted like she never heard of you. She didn't even know who I was."
"Wow, the resort is thorough with its reality changes. But, why do you guys remember me?"
Maya grinned. "Well, duh, it's because we're a team. The resort ain't gonna be breaking up a team, right?"
Suddenly, Sasha's phone chirped. She pulled it out and looked at the message. "That would be one of our 'teammates'. Yuki's wondering if we're alright. She's wandered into the..."
