Fear kept Jasper in place within the safety of the wall. He only watched as the curious rebel calmly walked over and picked up anya's locket. He looked it over a bit before smirking and walking on down the hall. Once the sound of his steps faded, Jasper realized that he was stuck as a mouse without the amulet or Anya!
The bright open hallway was frightening to Jasper, even with the rebels gone. So he turned and made his way deeper into the dark hole in the wall. Soon there was no light. He found his way through by the touch of his paws and whiskers. At times progress was difficult, but his body was small and nimble enough to squeeze through even the narrowest parts of the path. Jasper felt natural doing this despite never having to face such closed quarters before. In fact he was strangely comfortable crawling through the wall.
Eventually, after one more squeeze, he found himself standing in a more open area, on a wooden surface. Bits of light illuminated the area, but it was too dim to reveal his surroundings. He leaned back on the stone and decided to rest here a while before figuring out what he should do about his predicament. He was tired, and now he was hungry. The breaths and involuntary squeaks he produced made him more curious about the form he found himself trapped in.
As he ran his paws over his smooth fur he realized that while his underside was white, most of his fur was a royal red similar to his own natural hair. Could anyone draw a connection between that and him? Surely not. Aside from that, he appeared to be like any ordinary mouse. Big ears and pointed nose. He looked back at his tail. The strangest part of this body. An additional appendage that he found surprisingly easy to manipulate. Swishing it back and forth to distract and amuse himself. But this eventually brought his attention to another change he had failed to notice until now. Just bellow his tail something was missing. Even in this very different shape the void between his legs was unmistakable. The tail suddenly did not feel like the biggest change. Anya's magic had made him a tiny female mouse! Had she intended this or was there some other reason the amulet had given him this form? There was no way to know which made Jasper even more unsure about his circumstance. An annoyed chirp escaped from him. Why could he not have at least been a boy mouse? The situation only seemed to get worse with each passing moment.
After a bit of sulking and pouting Jasper at last decided to accept her situation as Julia the little female mouse. After all, she would not return to her proper strapping self by denying or feeling sorry about what had happened. Her attention needed to be on surviving and doing whatever it took to get things back to normal. It seemed to her that the best place to start would be figuring out where she was now.
