Amanda only ever felt right in the water. She only felt right swimming. She never felt right on land. She never felt her body was right. She never cared about her looks because she felt wrong. She couldn't understand it intill she saw her friend Margaret's goldfish swimming around in it's tank. That's when she knew what was wrong. She said aloud (maybe too loud) "I Need to be a goldfish." Margaret asked confused "What Amanda?" Amanda not being able to hold it in replied in nearly tears "I Need to be a goldfish. I'll kill myself if I can't be one." Margaret kinda scared asked "You serious?" Amanda answered nodding "I can't stand it. I Need to be a goldfish." Margaret saw in Amanda's eyes her torment. Torment over being a human not a goldfish. "I Need to be in there as a goldfish." Amanda told Margaret pointing to the tank. Margaret informed her that she would never fit in that tank. Amanda told her "I don't want to be an anthromorphic fish." Margaret quickly got "You want to be full on goldfish? A full feral goldfish?" Amanda nodded. "You do understand that means you'll be stuck in the water the rest of your life. Never able to be on land again? Never able to talk ever again?" Amanda breaking down crying yelled out "I NEED TO BE A GOLDFISH! I WILL KILL MYSELF IF I CAN'T BE ONE!" Realizing how serious Amanda was Margaret told her "I'll pay for you to get the treatment to become a feral goldfish." Amanda surprised asked "You will?" Margaret nodded with a "Yes. I will help you become what you need to be." So with that Amanda & Margaret headed to the Transformation Center & got Amanda the treatment to become a feral goldfish.
Sometime later at Margaret's house... The 2 girls looked at the clock & saw that Amanda's transformation into a feral goldfish was going to start soon. The 2 women headed upstairs & Margaret went to the bathroom to fill the tub for Amanda. Amanda went to Margaret's bedroom & stripped naked & then put on a bathrobe Margaret told her she could use to get to the bathroom. As Amanda neared the bathroom the beginnings of her transformation were starting; all her hair was starting to recede. Fish don't got any hair at all. Margaret commented on how it looked like it was beginning. Amanda was excited. She headed into the bathroom to see the tub filled to nearly the top in water & the faucet was turned off. Margaret left the room to give Amanda privacy as she transformed. Amanda closed the door but for a crack & removed the bathrobe making her naked. She tossed it out & closed the door fully. "I'll be back to collect you after you finish becoming a feral goldfish Amanda. I guess this will be the last time anyone ever calls you Amanda; or any name." Margaret said picking up the bathrobe. It wasn't lost on Amanda discarded the last thing she would ever wear. As for Amanda it wasn't lost on her the same. She'd be nude the rest of her life. Amanda was happy. She'd never need clothes again; not that a fish could wear clothes. Amanda yelled "Thanks for helping me become what I should be!" Margaret didn't answer as she headed downstairs. Amanda got in the tub 5
& a thought about skinny dipping crossed her mind. It was almost funny. Amanda smiled overjoyed. She was becoming what she always should of been; a feral goldfish. She couldn't be happier.
Margaret sat on the couch knowing later she'd find a feral goldfish in that tub. Not her friend Amanda. The 2 women had agreed that Margaret would only think of & treat Amanda as a simple nameless goldfish. That Amanda was gone. Margaret understood that she wanted to be a true feral fish. And goldfish don't have names.
