As Josh considered his options. Even if he took on Yuki's shy and quiet personality, there was no guarantee he'd be able to play the role perfectly enough, especially if her friends asked him a personal question that he wouldn't know the answer to. He wondered if he should just cheat and change Andrew and her friends into his polygamist family. It would certainly be easier than being stealthy. But he liked the idea of infiltrating Andrew's friends. Especially if he could have a body like Yuki's all to himself.
He decided that one way or another, he needed to acquire her memories. But how? The obvious answer was to alter his own awareness, so he would think he actually was Yuki. But he didn't want to lose himself.
Mentally merging with Yuki would likewise allow him to gain her memories, but that still meant becoming someone else, even if he was still aware of himself. If only he could just gain her body and memories, but still be himself.
Josh went through that last thought a couple more times. Gaining her body and memories, but still being himself. Gaining her body and memories, but still being himself.
What if he actually tried that? At the least, he could experiment with the idea without confirming the changes.
So, he merged his profile with Yuki's. What resulted was a rubber mouse woman named Josh-Yuki Homes. It seemed that the merging process prioritized his identity. That did not, however, include the merged personality. That was a mix of his and her traits, including her shyness. For relationships, Andrew was listed as her twin brother, and Andrew's friends were listed as her friends. Looking over the merge's physical traits, he noticed that while it had Yuki's body shape, it inherited the small size of the rubber mouse. More importantly, the feminine-looking creature inherited the rubber mouse's gender -- that is, it had none, featuring a smooth crotch. At the least, the merging allowed mobility; if Josh went with this body, he'd be a living rubber mouse woman.
Before making that decision, though, Josh focused on making sure this merged creature was mostly him. This meant swapping out all of Yuki's personality traits for his own. However, even having Yuki's memories, her friends would get suspicious if she was no longer the shy girl they expected. So he set them to be unware of the transformation, making them think that Josh-Yuki had always been this way.
This left the question of whether to make Andrew unaware, as well. Deciding to play around with the idea, he did exactly that. But, not wanting to lose their love for each other, he changed their relationships back to fiancés. And, just to be on the safe side, he opened Andrew's profile and set her to bisexual.
Of course, remaining Andrew's fiancé would mean that Josh would still be romantically tied to her, making it difficult to become intimate with Andrew's friends. But by becoming Josh-Yuki, he himself would be close friends with them, even if not intimately. This would already be an improvement, especially since Maya never trusted him as Josh. With that in mind, he decided that if he was going to become Yuki in body, he should also have her name. So he renamed the merger "Yuki Onno", taking Yuki's parents as his own, much like Andrew had acquired his parents.
Josh took a minute to think about the merger so far. He found it humourous that Andrew would now be enganged to Yuki instead of Josh, even if Josh was Yuki. It was also a bit surreal to realize he was effectively erasing the real Josh from existence, despite living on as Yuki. But the Transformation Resort does that on a regular basis anyway, with people getting rewritten when they leave the resort while transformed. He was glad that, as VIP, he didn't have to worry about really being overwritten. He also made a mental note to continue transforming others at the resort, so they too can remain themselves in different forms. Even if they wound up in forms vastly different than they planned. Josh briefly wondered how the newly-adopted kangaroo kid and mother were doing.
Josh was about ready to confirm his changes and become Yuki. It was just a question of form. Should he stick with the void's suggestion of becoming a tiny rubber mouse woman? Or should he keep Yuki human, acquiring the female body he had wanted for himself? Or maybe somewhere in between, playing off Yuki's mousey looks as a human?
