You decide to modify the girls’ relationship with each other. After all, you could always fix things later, you rationalized.
You read over the associated entries. In your girlfriend’s folder labeled “relationships,” you find Sarah’s document. It reads their relationship as, “roommate.” Below it, you add a note: “Vicky is secretly really attracted to Sarah,” then you close the file. You add a corresponding note in Sarah’s file, making her attracted to Vicky. You wonder how this will change the household dynamic.
Walking back to the living room, you sat down on the couch as gently as you could and snuggled to sleep with Vicky.
The next morning, you awoke to the sound of the front door closing. This roused your girlfriend as well. Sarah must have arrived home after staying the night.
“Morning, Sarah,” you called out.
“Hey guys!” Sarah replied cheerily. She walked into the room. Her eyes met Vicky’s and lingered for just a bit too long. Subtle, but you noticed. You got up to make coffee. Taking your former place on the couch, Sarah at down next to Vicky and started talking. You could hear the two of them giggling as you returned with the coffee pot. Something had definitely shifted between the two women.
You spent most of the day noticing subtle changes in the household dynamic. Sarah seemed warmer than usual; she was teasing Vicky more often. They were laughing together a lot more than usual. You noted that they were sitting much closer to one another on the couch. Even when you were in the same room, Sarah would lean over to Vicky and whisper something to her, causing both of them to laugh. You couldn't help but feel like an outsider in your own home.
Dinner time came around, and you cooked dinner for the three of you. The two women were still giggling incessantly. During dinner, Sarah seemed to be subtly attempting to touch your girlfriend’s thigh under the table. You almost didn’t notice it. After dinner, they both offered to clean up, and you accepted their offerings. As you sat down, you noticed that they were doing everything slowly and deliberately, giving each other extra chances to brush past each other or touch hands.
After they finished cleaning up, the two girls sat down on the couch to join you at the TV. Vicky sat down next to you, and Sarah next to Vicky. Vicky rested her head on your shoulder, but you couldn’t help but notice how she was also holding Sarah’s hand.
