Misaki had kept an eye on Felicity all day, this was difficult as they were in different years and shared no classes, she had to skip most of her own classes for her investigation. From what she observed Felicity, she was intelligent and did very well in her classes, the blonde seemed to effortlessly complete her assignments.
Misaki asked around about Felicity and everyone said pretty much the same thing: she was a rich, and seemed indifferent to most other students. Despite transferring to west high at the end of December, she had already become part of the popular students and seemed close to Winery. During lunch Misaki observed Felicity sit with Winery and her friends, she acted like any other teenager hanging out with her friends.
After lunch Misaki had went to the bathroom, when she got out of the stall Felicity was standing right in front of her.
“Find what you were looking for?” The blonde asked.
Misaki was surprised and ignited foxfire from behind her back. Felicity cocked her hip to the side and crossed her arms,
“Well? You’ve been spying on me all day.” She continued.
“No—I uh, I wasn’t— Akira is my uncle and I heard what happened so….” Misaki said awkwardly.
Misaki extinguished her foxfire, she sensed no magic coming from the blonde girl. She was unsure what to do, she couldn’t just attack the blonde, especially not while at school.
“I-I heard you were the only one not hurt by the assassin…” Misaki said.
“I don’t know what you’re implying, but that assassin tried to kill me and my frie—the others.” Felicity said visibly angry.
Before Misaki could think of something to say or do Winery walked into the bathroom, she looked at the two and sensed the tension.
“Misaki right? I think Akira might have mentioned you before.” Winery said then turned to the other blonde,
“You didn’t say where you were going when you left, do you know Misaki?”
Felicity looked to the werewolf princess and her expression softened,
“Just met her, she was asking about the attack.” Felicity said.
“Did she tell you that she saved my life?” Winery asked putting her arm around the blonde.
“Come on Winery, don’t make it sound so heroic, all I did was drag you away.” Felicity corrected with a blush.
“That’s my girl, she’s so modest!” The werewolf smiled and led Felicity out of the bathroom.
Misaki didn’t know what to think of Felicity, she appeared to be friends with Winery and the others but she couldn’t quite shake the feeling that something was off. The half-kitsune peaked from the door and decided to follow the two blondes but was pulled out of the bathroom. The teen saw that it was Ms. Byrne , the Vice Principal and a dragon. She was in her human form and dressed in her usual attire: a pink sweater and ankle length, dark pink skirt with an itchy looking pink tweed jacket, her hair was in a braided bun with coiled bangs and she wore horn rimmed glasses.
“Miss Nakamoto, you have missed almost all of your classes today. What do you have to say for yourself young lady?” She said in her usual posh tone.
“Uh…I-i-uh got lost….?” The Asian girl stammered.
Misaki couldn’t think of any better excuse so she turned to run but felt the heat of the vice principal’s dragon fire and meekly turned back around where Ms. Byrne handed her a detention slip.
“I am disappointed in you Miss Nakamoto and if you think of getting lost on your way to detention after school I will have no choice but to inform your Uncle.” Ms. Byrne finished and escorted the girl to her next class.
In class Misaki completely ignored the lesson, she was too busy beating herself up over being caught by the uppity vice principal. Having detention meant she couldn’t follow Felicity after school, she hoped that maybe Felicity would be in detention too but knew she was too much of a good girl to end up there.
