“Well,” Zack says, “I think we should make your body look the part”.
“Wh-what do you mean,” Jeff asks, not liking the sound of what Zack is suggesting.
“Well,” Zack says, “for a two month old pup, you are far to big, your hind legs aren’t digitigrade and your feet and hands aren’t paws. Also, your mind is to human, for this game of pretend to work and to make sure your are convincing, you’d need to forget everything you know as a human, plus, since dogs don’t talk we’d need to take away your ability to utter human words, the only sounds you’ll need to be doing are dog noises, like whines, barks, yips, whimpers and growls”.
“I… I honestly don’t like the sound of that,” Jeff says, “I mean… what about my family, my friends, my girlfriend? What about school? I can’t just… you know… forget them and the stuff I have learned in school. If I do, I’ll be kicked out of the school! What about my education?”
“I don’t know why you are worrying so much,” Zack calmly says, “it is just a game and you’ll soon be back to normal. No one will notice you missing, I’m not planning to ruin your life! I just would like to know what it feels like taking care of an animal for a few days”.
“How… how long do you want this… game… to go,” Jeff asks.
“A week,” Zack says with a shrug, “but not more than two”.
Jeff thinks for a while, he then sighs, “okay, I guess we came this far… so, I guess I’ll be okay with pretending to be your dog for two weeks, but NO longer than that! I want you to promise to revert everything back to normal, including me, when the two weeks are over”.
“Yeah, yeah,” Zack says, “I promise”.
Jeff sighs, “okay then,” he says, “let’s get this over with”.
Zack nods and starts typing into his phone, ‘soon Jeff… I mean Zeus… will not even care anymore,’ he thinks to himself, ‘he won’t even remember why he’s so worried once the tweaking of his mind is done. In a matter of seconds, he’ll be a cute little two month old German Shepherd who’ll be wagging and panting happily with no silly human thoughts and worries in his little head,’ and with that Zack confirms the changes, then watches as Jeff officially starts becoming HIS pet dog in mind and body. What Jeff is unaware of, Zack also altered the reality so that no one will remember Jeff, because Zack is not planning to transform Jeff back after two weeks, he wants his “dog” to stay with him as long as he, Zack, wants. Zack also altered the reality so that his family, especially his parents, think he had just bought the puppy and that they have allowed it, this causes dog stuff to materialize back at Zack’s home: a dog bed appears in the Zack’s room, a box of dog toys, two bowls, one for dog food, the other for water appear in the kitchen.
The first thing Jeff realizes is that his costume suddenly feels different, it feels as if his costume is merging with HIM, he can feel his face push forward, filling out the muzzle, his ears lengthen and fill out the ears of the head mask and his hair merges with the head fur of the mask. Jeff then feels his heels lengthen and his toes shrink as pawpads appear beneath them as his legs crack and pop as they reshape and take on a more feral apperance, the same happens to his hands, the teen watches in wonder as his fingers shrink and his hands turn into useless paws. The transforming human then feels himself shrink, until he is smaller than a newborn human, he then feels his muzzle shrink a little to match the muzzle of a two-month-old puppy. Finally Jeff feels something happening to his mind, it feels as if some important things are stripped away, when he tries to remember his family, friends, name, address, his age… all of that is gone until Jeff, now “Zeus”, looks around in confusion and when his eyes land on Zack the little puppy recognizes the Squirrel-boy as HIS owner, this causes “Zeus” to let out a happy bark and wag his tail as he trots across the examination table on all fours towards Zack who smiles under his mask and starts scratching “Zeus” behind an ear. Zack’s smile widens when a collar with a dog tag with “Zeus” ingraved on the front and Zack’s phonenumber and address engraved in the back materialize around the pup’s neck and with a “pop” noise, a leash appears on the table.
“Told you, you’d enjoy this game of pretend,” Zack says, “see? It’s not that bad after all, you are one happy puppy, right Zeus?”
“Zeus” lets out a little bark and licks Zack’s furry hand.
Zack chuckles, “aaaw, I love you too, Zeus,” he says, “I wish I could feel your licks through this costume, but sadly… hang on! I actually prefer looking like a Squirrel than human! I think I’ll make my costume my NEW real body!”
“Zeus” tilts his head as if trying to understand what his “owner” is saying, but dogs don’t understand human gibberish, though in his subconscious “Zeus” feels he SHOULD know what Zack is saying, this confuses the little pup, not understanding where that feeling comes from.
Zack meanwhile is typing into the App, “this App is amazing,” he says to himself, “not only has it given me the dog I’ve always wanted, but it’ll grant me my second dream: becoming my favourite animal! Hm… I think I’ll make myself younger, I think 10 is a great age, I don’t care that I’ll have to return to junior high, at least I can enjoy being a little 10-year-old Squirrel-boy and have lots of fun with “Zeus”!”
Satisfied, Zack confirms the change and grins when he feels his costume merge with his body, his face pushing forward, filling out the tiny muzzle, he then feels himself shrink as he becomes younger. Soon a little cute and athletic Squirrel-boy is standing in the vet’s clinic, Zack giggles, “man, I feel so full of energy,” he says, “this is so cooool! Good thing I set the reality so that I still work here on weekends as a little pocket-money job, that way I can keep the keys to the clinic! I think we are done here, time to go home, it’s going to be a long walk since I won’t be able to drive my car! Meh… I hated that old rusty thing anyway! Come, Zeus, let’s get home,” with that Zack attaches the leash and both of them leave the vets and start heading home, both “happy” with their changes.
