During Lunch, Haruka managed to meet up with Adeline at the cafeteria tables. The two managed to get along fine with their new bodies and with each other during the classes that they managed to share. The geeky girl felt so alive to be able to sit next to someone who was willing to hang out with her. While Adeline was just happy to make a new friend.
"Say, what are the rules of head detachment?" Haruka asked as she seemed forgetful.
"I recall that we are allowed to detach our heads but cannot swap with anyone. If we are caught being back on our own body or any others, our heads will get detention." Adeline said.
"Phew! Then I could do this." Haruka said as she took her head off of her body and placed her head on the table. "I prefer to eat like this."
"Oh? That seems cute." Adeline said. "You seem to like being detached from your body."
"I don't know. I just feel lighter. You should try it." Haruka said as she took a bite of her lunch. As for where the food goes, black hole nonsense and it goes to the latest body the head was attached to.
"Don't mind if I do." Adeline said as she placed her head on the table but close to Haruka's head. Adeline attempted to turn and give Haruka a kiss, shocking the Japanese head. "Oof! Sorry. I forgot that we don't do that casually in America."
"It's fine." Haruka said while blushing.
"To be honest, I was born and raised in the US but moved to France. I managed to get into the foreign exchange program just to see what the US is like again." Adeline said. "Not to say I dislike my roots and home, but kind of hard to get used to a land you are supposed to call home."
"So are you like French and born in America?" Haruka asked after she finished swallowing her food.
"Pretty much." Adeline said while eating. "What about you?"
"Just born here and that's it. I got the background but I do learn a couple of things. Especially for anime." Haruka said.
"I had to learn on the fly when I moved to France." Adeline said. "Even with practice. You looked so confident."
"Really?" Haruka asked.
"Oh yes. I could just kiss you for how cool you are." Adeline said.
The heads then kept on chatting while their bodies fed their new heads. And then...
