Jeremy stood, looking at the scene before him with awe. There were boys of all ages and walks of life running off to a myriad of attractions. There was so much to see and do here; Jeremy knew there was no way he and his friends were going to be able to do it all.
The boy coulden't help but wonder why his parents and other adults had warned him about this place. He knew he was old enough to think for himself and to make his own decisions. It annoyed him that so many things still required parental permission for him to do.
If his parents said no to those things and refused to sign Jeremy's permission slip, he woulden't be able to do it.
This island however required no parental permission. All that they required was Jeremy and his friends to want to come. They didn't even ask how old they were! Perhaps that should have alerted Jeremy of a hidden agenda.
Jeremy however was not about to allow such concerns to deter him from doing whatever he wanted without his parents or other adults looking over his shoulder the entire time.
Michael and Zach were already eying something.
"We're hungry, you want to get something to eat?" Michael asked.
"How can we afford it? We don't have much money!" Zach replied.
"Who needs money, everything here is free!" an older boy says as he ran toward a group of older boys.
"Hey Trevor, I heard there's a bunch of girls on the beach and clothing is optional!" one of the group said.
The trio ran off and Zach looked at Jeremy with an evil grin.
"Don't you have to be, you know, an adult to go to that sort of stuff?" Jeremy asked.
Jeremy was only starting to become interested in the opposite sex. He however, was still nervous around them. Quite frankly, he'd rather play video games then with girls.
"So?" Zach asked, his grin growing almost evil.
"No guys, we'll get into trouble!" Jeremy says.
"Who's going to get us into trouble? This place is no rules at all! I hear we can even drink beer if we want!" Zach said.
"Isn't beer gross?" Jeremy asked.
"Have you ever tried it?" Zach asked.
"Well, um no. But all our teachers keep telling us that drinking and smoking are for adults and even then they're bad," Jeremy said.
To be honest, Jeremy did wonder what beer tasted like. He also wondered the same for a cigarette or even a cigar. However, he was afraid he might like them and someone would catch him drinking or smoking and he'd get into a lot of trouble. A part of him kept saying that those things were adults only but on this island, that term didn't seem to exist.
Michael put his right arm around Jeremy's shoulders. "Don't worry dude; you don't have to try it if you don't want to. But, we're only going to be here a couple of days. Before we have to go back to boring reality, why not have some fun? I won't tell if you won't tell."
"Anyway, we won't let anything happen to you. I promise," Zach said.
"Well, I guess just one woulden't hurt. But if I don't like it, I'm not going to drink any more!" Jeremy said.
Michael released Jeremy and nodded his head. "I know," he said.
"So, the beach or find a bar?" Zach asked.
