It was about time to call it a day, some other members of the Equestrian team would be coming by in the evening to give the horses some more feed and make sure the barn door and all the stalls were locked before night fall.
For Amanda it was about time she headed back to her dorm to freshen up before her afternoon classes, she also had a major exam to study for that night and wasn’t looking forward to that.
The farm girl from Indiana placed the large amount of feed in her horse’s stall before giving her a long gentle rub across the face and down it’s neck.
“Well, I will be back tomorrow girl, you be good.” Said Amanda as her horse shook her head, it was a horse from home. Most of the horses were actually owned by the riders, but the school provided the barn and the feed while they competed for them.
“Heading out Amanda?” inquired Marcus as he led his own horse in from a ride.
“Yah, got a test tomorrow. Animal Medicine and I really need to look over my notes.” explained Amanda
“Alright.” Confirmed Marcus as he led his horse into his stall.
There were only six of them in the barn at the moment, Amanda, Marcus, Lucy, Luke and two others whom Amanda didn’t recognize at the moment because of where they were in the barn and the team hooded sweatshirts all of them where currently wearing. Soon it would be five as Amanda headed toward the office where her backpack was.
She stopped as a light came from the office.
It wasn’t a normal light; it was almost like a rainbow pattern and it was so welcoming. Slowly Amanda began to walk toward the light.
“Amanda what is…” started Lucy as she came out of her stall with her own horse in hand. She saw the light and became slack jaw much like Amanda and she turned to follow her toward the light.
“What is up with you two?” inquired Luke as he came out of the bathroom and saw the two of them. Then he too fell under the power of the light and headed toward the door. Marus and the other two soon followed and all of them began to head toward the light.
Amanda couldn’t stop herself as she headed toward the light, she tried to scream but her body wasn’t her’s to command.
She pushed open the door to the office which was semi-open as the light filled her entire view. She however kept walking, she walked until she knew she would have slammed into the desk sitting in the room but she didn’t slam into anything. She kept moving until she would have hit the wall but still nothing.
Finally, the light faded and she was back in control of her body.
However, she wasn’t in the barn, or anywhere else she knew of.
She was standing on top of a small hill surrounded by other rolling hills some with small forests in them others covered with tall natural grass. The sky was a perfect blue, with some white clouds overhead while a gentle warm wind moved across the landscape. There was no sign of humanity, no buildings, no roads that could be seen, not even the sound of aircraft.
“Where are we?” inquired Marcus
“I don’t know.” Answered Amanda wondering where they were.
