Aurora neighed as another contraction hit her. Mikhail gently stroked her as she laid on her side, whispering a soothing spell to ease her pain. Theia had returned to the riding school after dropping Aurora off, but not before getting it in writing that Mikhail would send her Aurora’s foal once it was weaned. Mikhail was fine giving away the foal. Aurora was…fine. She was certainly high quality, but not of the quality that the Copperstones sought in their horses. She also had a horrible temperament. If she wasn’t under a spell to ensure her behavior, she would throw a massive fit. This tendency only got worse as her pregnancy progressed.
Though Mikhail thought Aurora could be added to their breeding farm, he had no misconceptions that she would be good for anything else. And given her downsides, he didn’t want to keep a foal that had been sired with a stallion he didn’t know anything about. He was only interested in foals she might produce with a hand-selected stud. Already, Mikhail had chosen a stud for Aurora to breed with once she was ready. Aurora neighed again. Her time was near. Mikhail smiled at her.
“It will be over soon,” he said reassuringly.
Anya wanted to bite her older brother. When Theia’s charm wore off, she tried to communicate, but was put under a behavioral spell by a jittery stablehand before she could. Ever since then, she had been labeled as a “problem horse”, constantly kept under a spell to make her behave. The few seconds between the spell wearing off and it getting cast again weren’t enough for her to do anything but pitch a fit. Her desperation, with her mind stuck in a perfectly-behaved mare’s body, only worsened as time went by. She couldn’t help but worry about Sassy stuck at the riding school.
But her magic, which had been drastically impacted by her transformation into a horse and the multiple charms cast upon her, was back to levels at which she could return to normal. It was only a matter of time before she could utilize the few seconds between behavioral spells to change to a human. Once that happened, she planned to turn her foal human as well. Anya had no wish for her offspring to be a horse. Regardless of its parentage.
Speaking of her foal, Anya pushed one final time. She felt something slide out of her. Mikhail gestured for a stablehand to bring the foal to her. Anya had noticed Mikhail’s tendency to make stablehands do everything. It didn’t surprise her. He had always been rather self-absorbed and lazy. The stablehand laid the foal in front of Anya. Anya began to lick it clean, her heart swelling. She was unhappy with everything about her situation, but couldn’t help but feel a surge of love for her child.
“A beautiful filly,” Mikhail commented. The filly was as golden as Anya, and a Witch’s Pony as well. “Theia will be pleased.” After Mikhail and the stablehands checked Anya over one last time to make sure she was okay, they left her alone. Anya got to her feet. The filly stood as well. Before Anya could do or think anything, the filly ducked her head under Anya and grabbed onto one of her teats. Anya jerked in surprise at the sensation of being nursed from.
She resigned herself to it, however. She would have to get used to it. She would need to nurse her daughter even after returning to human form. All Anya had to do was wait for her current behavioral spell to wear off. Then, she could finally get out of this horse’s body.
