Ronald wasn’t entirely sure what “become and live among woodland races” totally meant. Was it a LARP sort of thing? However, the prospect of being the first person to try out this new area made him feel like it was too good an offer to pass up. As he scrolled down the list of options, he wondered if he’d get any benefits from it, being the first visitor and all.
He finally found one choice that stuck out him, “Ogre (M)”. He wasn’t sure why, but thought back to playing an Orc character in the old tabletop RPG sessions he was a part of in highschool, and imagined it’d be like that. He circled the selection and handed the forum back.
“Excellent. Please step through this door. A staff member should be with you shortly afterwards to gauge your experience, walk you through things and guide you, if necessary.” She perkily said as she gestured towards an ornate double doorway to the side, with green ivy patterns and golden paneling. “Just through here?” Ronald asked, stepping up to the door. She nodded in affirmative as he turned the handle and opened it.
Outside was a beautiful, lush, verdant park, dirt path trails leading from the facility’s porch, weaving around large trees, shaded under ivy-covered arbors with strings of lights and lanterns attached, though not yet lit up due to it still being morning. A few benches were set up beside the trails, along with several signposts pointing in different directions, and he could even see a few gazebos off the paths in the middle of grassy fields. He could hear birds and insects through the foliage. It was surprisingly picturesque. He didn’t see anyone outside though. “When should the guide get here?” He turned back and asked. “Oh! A liaison should arrive shortly. Until then, you’re free to walk around and explore on your own. A guide should find you either way.” She cheerily replied. Ronald felt a bit unsure suddenly, but still nodded and exited under the pergola outside, closing the door behind him.
He wasn’t quite sure what to do now. Should he wait for a guide to arrive? But considering that staff members were probably everywhere, he guessed he could stroll around and run into one anywhere.
