It had been half a month now, Kyra, was sitting in a dingy dirty prison cell with only window as her view to the outside world. It didn't seem too long ago now that Kyra was sitting next to her husband, the Lord and Lady of the Vampire nation with their children as being called a miracle coming from a natural birth, of course there was more to it than that, but Kyra preferred it be considered a miracle. She hadn't been just a queen that sat in her chair and looked beautiful, she and Wyatt were a team, if ever they both needed to be on the throne making the decisions, then she would be there alongside him, and he were away, Kyra's subjects would listen to her as they respected her.
That had been until the day when the Mad Queen Vanessa stormed their ancestral home and brought ruin to it. Kyra knew Wyatt would want to protect his family, so she made a decision and forced him into the portal to send him away so he could live to fight another day. Vanessa had thought it was a stupid move leaving the queen alone with just her children and two vampire women who could barely fight. Vanessa then something any mother would consider most cruel, she separated Kyra from her children in another part of the manor entirely. Kyra hadn't seen her children's faces or heard their voices in half a month and she missed hearing all five of them. Vanessa would make frequent visits to Kyra to either mock or question her, she finally heard her coming down again one day followed by another pair of footsteps.
Kyra stood up to see Vanessa looking arrogant as usual with her poor handmaiden, Cheyenne looking like she'd taken a beating again. Vanessa had kept Cheyenne around her to serve her, and threatened the children if she got out of line.
"What do you want now? Come to mock me again?" Kyra asked crossing her arms.
"Not this time. I've come to tell you, we've had some news that a rescue party is coming for you. No doubt that husband of yours who you pushed away. Your knight in shining armor. What a fool, no matter who he brings, you'll all die by my hand." Vanessa chuckled.
"None of us will die, and you better be keeping your hands away from my children!" Kyra roared at Vanessa.
"Oh trust me, I've tried to do things to them. But...I have....a problem. I think you might know what it is, but I can't be sure....you've enchanted me somehow. When I look at those children, for some reason, I get....sad and back away and nearly vomit that I hurt them. What did you do to me?" Vanessa questioned.
"Ha! Even if I had an answer to that, I wouldn't tell you. Maybe you've just gone soft on my babies." Kyra suggested.
"Don't worry, your highness, she shan't touch one hair on them if I have anything to say about it." Cheyenne said as she was suddenly backhanded by Vanessa and fell on the ground.
"Cheyenne!" Kyra said concerned for her handmaiden's well being.
"At least there's someone I can hurt here. You'll break soon enough 'Lady' Kyra, I'll make sure of it. Also, don't worry about your children, I've left them in the hands of that other vampire woman, Duchess. I'm sure she's having a difficult time trying to keep them happy." Vanessa said as she left pulling Cheyenne by the chain collar she had put on her neck.
Kyra wouldn't break under pressure by this woman. She wasn't high school girl Kyra anymore, she was Lady Kyra Tepes, and when she was free, she would make sure Vanessa would know who the true vampire queen around here was.

"Queen Vanessa was a bitch, Ee I ee I o, and she walked around thinking she own the manor, ee i ee i o, with a bitch, bitch, here, and a bitch bitch there, here a bitch, there a bitch, everywhere a bitch, bitch, Queen Vanessa was a bitch, ee i ee i o." Duchess sang to the five Tepes children who were somewhat happy with Duchess's songs but still missed their mom and dad.
Despite being separated from their parents, Duchess had made her own promise to keep the children happy for her lord and lady. She also vowed to get back in her own way to Vanessa who separated her from Cassandra, and when she returned to her side, she would confess her undying affection for her mistress.
"Okay children, now it's time for another song for you to learn! Run, run, run down your car, over the mad queen, happily happily happily she's got the most blood you've ever seen!" Duchess sang making the Tepes children clap and look happy.
