A commotion now drew Kyra's attention, the vampire queen anxiously gazing at the door. Whoever was outside, was quickly approaching. Holding her breath, Kyra now awaited whatever fresh hell Vanessa had in store for her.
Kyra gasped as her door was now wrenched from its frame. Blinking in confusion, Kyra watched as a young woman and two teenage girls piled into her cell. "Lady Kyra," the young woman said quickly. "Hailey Meyers, agent of S.P.E.A.R, we're here to rescue you."
"Hailey," Kyra asked, befuddled by the young woman's appearance. Before, Hailey could answer, Kyra threw her arms around the young vampire, squeezing her tightly. "Thank you," she whispered, the vampire now taking a moment to study Haileys companions. "Natalia MacGregor what are you doing here?"
"Trying to help," Nat said quickly. The teenage dhamphir now turning to Hailey. "Geshp and Henry said they would secure an exit as soon as we got Kyra. You want me to tell them to give the signal."
"Wait we're leaving now," Kyra exclaimed. "What about my children! And Duchess and your mother Hailey! We can't leave them!" Hailey bit her lip, her every instinct told her to rescue her mother, but that wasn't her job. Sarah trusted her, she had a job to do. She would have to put her personal feelings aside to succeed. "As we speak there's a team en route to rescue them," she stared. "My job is to get you to safety."
"You can't be serious," Kyra bellowed, her eyes turning blood red. "I refuse to leave here without my children. We have to...NO..WE MUST resuce them!"
"Listen," Hailey yelled, grabbing the vampire queen firmly by the shoulders. "Do you here that?" Kyra paused, turning her head as Hailey pointed outside. Taking a moment, she could now here the unmistakable sounds of battle. "Right now your husband and Duke are creating a distraction," she said. "They're doing that for YOU Kyra. I promised them I would get you to safety."
"But the children."
"Someone else is taking care of the children Kyra," Hailey stated. "Trust me we're getting everyone out of here. But we have to go now!" A pained look now crossed Kyra's face. The idea of leaving the children pained her but, her freedom was now being made possible because of Wyatt. Fighting back tears, she now gave Hailey a stiff nod as they exited Kyra's cell. "How did you get past the guards?"
"Thank these two," Hailey stated. "Nat here can handle herself pretty well in a fight and this one can apparently control the dead." Kyra's eyes went wide, her gaze resting on the teenage girl dressed in a purple school uniform. "Controls the dead?"
"One of the powers of Guardian Pluto. Names Lilith." Kyra nodded, thanking Lilith as they now ran towards the extraction point.
