The group walked the red fog covered forest, the cyborgs appeared to keep their distance from the group. Whether due to fear over their new companions or orders from Vanessa, was unknown.
“Did your father ever speak of me?” Vlad asked.
“He said enough. I have no interest in speaking with you, we may be related but I will not call a monster such as yourself my kin.” Hanako replied sharply.
The tall legendary vampire smiled slightly, his granddaughter noticed this and her scowl intensified.
“You remind me of my wife when she first came to my castle… so stubborn and—“ he was stopped by Hanako,
“—save it, I have no desire to speak with you.” She said and walked faster towards the front of the group.
“Don’t worry my lord, she doesn’t not deserve your attention or affection.” Esme said.
“No…I’m not so sure I deserve hers.” He said stoically.

Vanessa entered the chambers the Tepes children were being held in and had her cyborgs force Duchess and Cheyanne from the room, leaving the vampire alone with the children. Before Duchess was taken away, Vanessa clutched face and examined it.
“I know that look. You think me a monster.” Vanessa said.
Duchess spit in her face but Vanessa calmly licked it her face clean. Her nails grew sharper and longer, her thumb hovering right over the other vampire’s left eye as she clutched Duchess’s face.
“Hmm, amusing. You will pay for that.” Vanessa said and hee expression darkened.
“Hurt me however you want you bitch.” Duchess spat back.
“Oh I’m not going to hurt you…in my experience, pleasure can be just as useful as pain.” The mad Queen said sadistically.
Once the two were gone she looked at the children and felt sorrow and pain swell up, fighting through it she picked up Andromeda. She held the child in her arms and the pain increased,
“Why? Why am I feeling this way? These…feelings, they’re a weakness…I should strangle you all right now—but I cannot.” Vanessa said.
A tear ran down Vanessa’s cheek, a strange and foreign thing she thought impossible. She wiped it with her finger and examined it.
“I cannot allow this weakness to envelop me.” She whispered.
