It made no sense that there wasn't a police line or an investigation going on about the mansion given how many students had vanished. The place should have been barred off, torn to pieces by police, or demolished to prevent more vanishings. Let alone what a abandoned mansion was doing right across the street from a high school. You couldn't remember when it had appeared, logically it had been there for decades, but your thoughts were foggy when you tried to think about it too long.
There should have been rumors and stories of who OWNED the manor, let alone who had ABANDONED such a pricey piece of restate right in the middle of the city. But everyone, including you, had accepted its existence almost in a daze. This went double for the families of the missing teens... they should have been up in arms, crying their eyes out, demanding why the school or the city wasn't doing something about it, but they just carried on their lives like nothing had happened. Their various bedroom now more like tombs or 'forgotten' rooms their minds glazed over.
Let alone WHY teen kept entering... curiosity? Wanting to prove themselves? Hoping to have it as a club house? Loot? Or like you, perhaps hoping they WOULD just 'vanish' after having one bad day.
When you stepped inside, you realized something was wrong at once. A bell rang, but that wasn't the odd thing. The place looked WAY too clean to be abandoned. You didn't spot any dust anywhere. And the entry hall was so big it looked to take up half the manor, but the shape of the room made that impossible. Bigger on the inside than the outside?
And that was when a ring of runes around the room glowed. You gasped and fell to your knees. You body double in size, as did your muscle mass. Your body was quickly covered in green scales, when your front had golden scales. Claws emerged from your hands and feet, and you lost two of your toes but gained a hind claw. You neck lengthen as did your face as your mouth became full of dagger like fangs. Your ears morphed into flames of skin. Your hair vanished, replaced with a red crest from the top of your head... all the way to the tip of the muscular tail growing from the base of your spine. A pair of bat like wings sprouted from your back. And there was the pair of horns as well that stuck out of your head. Your legs became digigrated. Your hands were more a set of claws with an opposable thumb claw. No one would have mistaken you for a man in a costume. Your clothes had been completely destroyed, and actually vanished before your eyes (which were now yellow with catlike).
You'd barely had time to process being turned into a dragon, when from every door a small army of maids emerged... weird, not as weird as them all being humanoid animals of some sort or another.
"CONGRATULATIONS!" They all cheered.
A red fox said, "You're lucky! With the mansion having met its quota of staff, artworks, pets, and tools, you have been chosen to serve as Master of the House. I'm Jessiebelle by the way Master. The first human lured in by the mansion since it shifted to this place, alone and empty, so allow me to answer all your questions."
"We exist to serve you and make sure you live happily," said a petite skunk maid.
"To tend to your earthly needs," said a purple cat maid in a sultry voice, her uniform a bit more revealing than the others. Your notice a scar on one paw... like the one a school bully had given you punching you in the face a year ago.
"We shall ensure everything goes smoothy for you," said a ... her body was an exoskeleton, she had four scalie wings, her neck was hidden by white fur, had a pair of feathers... and she had four arms... She was a moth girl maid. You hoped she wasn't in charge of laundry.
"To protect you from all harm," said a maid whose upper body was a cobra woman, and her lower body was a single big tail.
"To destroy your enemies!" Hissed a red dragoness puffing smoke, almost as big you, and almost as naked, but with golden cuffs on her arms, legs, tail, and around her neck.
"To do all the boring junk so you won't have to," said a green horse with a pink mane, and wearing a pair of green rimmed glasses you recognized belonging to your old lab partner.
"We are but your puppets master. Extensions of your will. Empty husks to be filled only by your designs," said a bat maid, unlike you, her arms and wings were one and the same.
"We have waited excited when we'd reach the number to finally have a master to serve, and at last you arrive," grinned a gray wolf maid with brown patch.
"And FINALLY all our preparations are put to use!" said a painted bunting... unlike the bat, her wings were an extra set of limbs like you. She had a pair of mismatched blue and green eyes ... like a student who'd been in your art class.
These maids and the rest fell on their knees (well as much as the cobra woman had knees) and bowed to you. And begged, "PLEASE! Command us Master! Give us meaning!"
